Flash fic ROUND 2

So here's my flash ficlet from the second round we did today at the European Fic Writers' Retreat, together with the Canadian retreat (over Zoom). This time, we all used the same prompts. We used storytelling dice to come up with the following prompts:

The rules were: Use at least 3 of these. You have 20 minutes.

"So, how are we going to share the loot?" First mate John asked Captain Sherlock.

"Yay, good question, mate!" Jim piped in. "We've done so much fighting when we've taken over the Royal Navy's galleon. We deserve more than our usual share!"

There was a lot of affirmative mumbling from the pirate crew of the Purple Ghost.

They had become infamous over the last year as a fierce and resourceful bunch of pirates and nowadays, a lot of the commercial ships they entered simply laid down their weapons and gave over the riches to Captain Sherlock. They knew they were not going to get killed if they simply surrendered.

But, raiding the Naval ship had been more difficult obviously, despite the brilliant plan their captain had devised. Several of the crew had been injured in the process to retrieve the sack of sacks full of gold coins that had been supposed to pay for the Naval soldiers in Port Appledore.

First mate John had had to stitch up a lot of wounds, being the only one with at least some kind of medical knowledge.

Right now, Jim stared accusingly at Captain Sherlock. 

"You always take 50% of and leave us only the morsels, it's time for a change!"

Several pirates rattled their sabres.

"What do you suggest, Jim?" The captain asked.

"Let's say, 65 to 35 this time?"

Apparently, Jim had not really thought this through, so he was a bit stunned when Captain Sherlock simply said "Yes" and John Watson added - always being the moderator and the one to settle a dispute peacefully- "Maybe we will decide about how we split each time after the fight from now on?"

Again, an affirmative mumbling arose.

"Hear, hear!" Greg Lestrade, master of the cannons, cried out.

"All hail to Captain Sherlock!" John called out a salute, raising his musket high into the air and firing off a round.

The rest of the crew happily joined in and the cracking sounds of fired guns resonated across the serene ocean for a long time.

Hypothetically (I am totally not writing a fic) if you were to come up with a Sherlock Holmes pirate AU, what pirate name would you give Sherlock as the captain?

How come no one writes stories or draws John as a sexy pirate? With bright sun bleached hair and scars and tattoos up one arm and he's tough but also one of the kinder pirates as in he loves his crew and will do anything to protect them. And he's dark and cunning and knows how to steal(Sherlock's heart oops)

They always have Sherlock as the pirate but like I NEED MORE SEXY PIRATE JOHN!
