also i think it’s so interesting how different spanish dialects call capybaras and they all give the same vibe, most people here say capibara, but the colombian guy in the tiktok says chigüire, argentines and uruguayans say carpincho, i think some places in venezuela say piropiro. and a lot of the names weren’t derived from spain or portugal either so they developed indigenously and names spread to other groups. yet they still all sound like the same animal, like if you told me a chigüire and a piropiro were the same animal, without me already knowing, i’d be like ah yes that makes sense!!
