#JackedKirby - The OMAC Pitch... 💥💥💥 After his 4th World titles were cancelled way earlier then planned by the brass at DC, Jack was faced with a conundrum: With all of his original titles cancelled how would he fullfil his monthly contract production quota. You see, DC didn’t seem to want the 4th World... but they certainly wanted to keep Jack on staff. So they decided to listen to some of his series ideas, and also urge him to complete a horror themed book for the new interest people were showing in those comics (which would become The Demon!). This is when Jack pitched OMAC, the One Man Army Corps! 💥💥💥 An outstanding concept WAY ahead of its time, Jack had a hero in OMAC who was actually a weakling named Buddy Blank. But when Blank is joined with the satellite technology of Brother Eye he is physically transformed into OMAC... a one man wrecking crew with endless power and supreme intelligence to go with it. Battling the evil Inter Gang and Dr Scuba (don’t ask... lol). 💥💥💥 The series ran only 8 issues, but boy did Jack get a lot in there! The book is loaded with all types of technological goodies like Artificial Intelligence, satellite communication, cell phones, innovative transportation and medical procedures are all laid out in the pages of this series decades before they would become mainstream! 💥💥💥 Here is the original pitch that Jack sent DC. It has been reprinted in both his late 70s portfolio as well as the very first issue of the Jack Kirby Collector (which is the version you see here).
