Trinity buying a used Xbox off of marketplace, hooking it up to the shitty TV in the living room before throwing a controller to Dennis like "Here."
She goes on and on about mobs and strategy and lore, all while Dennis is happy cutting grass and taming animals, making a fairly sizable farm.
He manages the everything needed at home, while Trinity explores, bringing back rare ingredients and the occasional rare animal being pulled behind her with a rope
listen i’m trying really hard to have coherent garsanshimi mother’s day thoughts but also my brain is mush
-baran’s son is with her ex-wife
-which like she’s fuckin’ sad about but does a pretty good job of holding it together leading up to the day
-until yolanda gets up early enough to bring back her favorite coffee before work
-and trinity gives her a framed candid photo of baran and her son
-and baran just fuckin. loses it. bc what do you mean she’s a mom and it’s mother’s day but she can’t even see her kid and work has been so busy lately that she’s barely gotten to see her kid and she already misses so much time with him bc of split custody and and and
-and yolanda and trinity just rub her back and give her a pep talk bc even tho they have the day off baran has to go to work
-and so baran goes to work, and does so well, really, politely muscles through all the “happy mother’s day,” and “doing anything fun to celebrate?” and she only cries a little bit when she has to stay late and realizes it’ll be too late to even call her son when she gets home.
-and when she finally does get home, it’s clear that trinity and yolanda have spent all day doing projects around the house; little deep-cleaning things that are easy to forget about when you’re all doctors working crazy hours. dinner is on the table and they’ve waited for her to get home to eat even though it’s late and they all have to be back at work tomorrow.
-and dinner is quiet and they talk about their days but they don’t talk about mother’s day.
-they go to bed and they don’t talk about how trinity and yolanda are extra attentive to baran, playing with her hair, giving her a back rub, waiting until she’s asleep before they fall asleep themselves.
-and in the morning baran wakes up before anyone, and makes breakfast. and when yolanda and trinity make it downstairs, there are printed photos of each of them with baran’s son.

“Is it weird that we haven’t had sex yet?”
Past midnight—textbooks lay open on the bed and desk, dog-eared, flipped through, scribbled on with all manner of pens; ash tray by the open window, pattering rain, two dried-up coffee mugs on the floor, two boys at a standstill and one at a loss for words. Robby, belly down on the bed with his knees bent and ankles crossed, stares through the pages, taps a pencil against his thumb with a nervous rhythm, bees flying circles in his head. Jack watches him from the desk chair.
When he doesn’t answer, Robby closes his book and reaches on the floor for his battered American Spirits box—“Never mind”—sits back up, lights one, stiff through the neck. They’ve been cooped up in his dorm for five hours, and while Jack’s academic focus has remained intact, Robby’s has long vanished.
Jack flounders. “I… I—I mean, do you want—do you want to?”
They’ve never talked about this. Most couples they know wouldn’t have made it forty minutes in this room.
“Most couples have sex,” says Robby. “Takes them, what, a week? A day?” A flash of orange to his mouth, a long drag, and, “Not half a year.”
So they are no longer studying. Behind him Jack closes his own textbook and shoves Robby’s over to make room for himself, lying sideways, looking up at Robby who right now can’t bring himself to look back. “Catholics don’t have sex ‘til marriage,” Jack says, manages to make him laugh despite the shame he hoards in his chest.
“Not helpful.”
“I’m just—I—not everybody has sex, okay, it’s not weird.”
Robby thinks if he looks at Jack he’ll cry. Why did he bring this up again? It’s incessant, that thing in him, the fear of Jack getting bored of this and leaving him behind. “You don’t want to?” he asks, and in the split second before the answer is relief he’s desperate to hold onto.
“I didn’t say that, just”—and it’s gone just as quickly, eaten by disgust—“well. I don’t know. We’ve got our thing,” Jack says. “I like it.”
More smoke through Robby’s lungs; a car drives by; his head tucks itself into his chest for a solace that isn’t there. “It’s not enough, though, is it.” Before he realizes Jack has moved, there’s a hand running through the back of his tousled hair, drawing him back up, and he looks at Jack’s down-turned mouth, selfishly wants to be kissed by it, by Jack, and maybe—maybe more, if—
“Baby, hey.”
—if Jack wants to, he doesn’t think he’d mind touching him, but being touched, his stomach coils, mind blurs, and it’s someone else—
“Oh, Mike, put that thing out, come here,” Jack says, cooing his name. Robby’s cigarette is gone, his face is in Jack’s shirt collar that smells so good it makes him sick, and he doesn’t realize he’s already crying until his tears are rubbed back into his cheeks. “What’s going on?”
“You’ve done it before,” Robby says, pulling away to make it hurt less when the conversation goes sideways in a new, disastrous way he hasn’t yet conceived. Jack shrugs.
“For fun, yeah. No strings attached sort of deal once or twice. It’s fun.”
“Have you… since…”
And Jack’s expression changes, bewildered or insulted, Robby can’t quite tell, when he says, “Since I very deliberately asked if you were interested in an exclusive relationship, no, I haven’t had sex with anybody else. Jesus.”
“Please don’t be mad, I’m—“
“I’m not mad, I’m confused, Mikey.” Robby wipes his tears, and Jack takes his dampened hands, holds them tight. “Look, okay. You talk. Talk, don’t just ask me things.”
Robby’s gaze still falls to Jack’s lips, a little higher to his freckled nose, the sleepless, twitchy skin under his eyes, but no higher, and words tumble from one space in Robby’s brain to another; his mouth opens with no sound for a while, but Jack remains ever patient.
“I don’t want you to feel bad,” he says. “I don’t know, the thought of it’s always freaked me out a little—a lot, actually—but now I’m with you, and you probably want to, but I…”
“You don’t.”
Robby wipes his face on his shoulder and blinks hard. There it is, he thinks, out in the open once and for all, and now Jack will break his heart gently. He can only shake his head.
“Okay. Okay, um.”
“It’s not you. I don’t know what it is. Porn doesn’t really do it for me either, and trust me, I’ve… I’ve tried.” Jack’s thinking face, hard, intense, is smoothed by Robby’s thumb between the brows, hand down his cheek. “You’re gonna pop a vein.”
“Sorry, I… but you’ve, like…” He says it through his teeth like it’s a secret, or more likely thinking that Robby will run: “You’ve gotten hard before. Like, more than once.”
“Well, yeah, because I like you, and I like the way you hold me and kiss me, and if we’re making out for an hour listening to Joni Mitchell, my body’s gonna react. It’s just, it’s not… sexual to me. I don’t know. I’m not even entirely against trying… something. I don’t know what, but it’s been stressing me out so much, Jack, because I haven’t done it before, and I really want this to work—”
Jack’s kiss is the lapping line of waves on a balmy shore, easy and familiar and tear-salted. “It does work,” he says. “We’d both know if it didn’t, right? It’s what you said, we’re intimate in other ways, and it’s nice.” Robby leans out of Jack’s hand again. “I like this, Mike, I love this.”
“I love you,” he says, a hint of a whisper, and they haven’t yet made it this far either, not out loud. “Fuck, sorry. I mean, I’m not sorry for that, I do love you, and I’ve loved you for a long time, and I want—I want you, but this wouldn’t be enough for most people!”
“Don’t think about other people. I don’t care about them. I care about you, about us. Sex doesn’t matter to me, man. It’s… I don’t know, it’s like rock climbing.”
Robby’s laugh bursts straight from his belly, and the relief is back, tickling in his chest, and Jack shrugs carelessly, laughing too; it’s a beautiful sound. “Rock climbing, he says it’s like rock climbing.”
“Look, all I’m saying is, it’s not on my mind all the time. Maybe that makes me weird too. Maybe that’s why this works so well.” Jack looks for Robby’s eye line, takes his head in both hands to drag it back up to him—“I love you”—rubs his thumbs over both eyes, both gaunt, reddened cheeks—“so much, Michael”—and Robby’s face wrinkles in his grasp, malleable like his heart in these hands that have come to know him so deeply. Jack kisses his mouth again, his cheeks, nose, eyelids, ears, under the jaw, down and around the neck, and from there they hold each other, impassioned and raw and tight.
Jack could squeeze Robby to his last breath and he’d be happier for it.
One night at a bar with Trinity, Garcia and Javadi.
Trinity, incredibly drunk, arguing with a guy who stole her shot "Fuck you! that was MY drink you limp dick asshole!"
Throwing back Trinity's shot "snooze ya lose sweetheart"
Getting in the guys personal space, little care given to the fact that he is nearly twice her size "No asshole that was mine you owe me a fucking shot and don't call me sweetheart you fucking dickhead"
Looking down at Trinity, annoyed" Don't get your panties in a fucking twist bitch, I'm not buying you a shot get it yourself" Turns and starts to walk away
"What the fuck did you just call me?!" Trinity shoves him "Get the hell back here, you owe me a fucking drink you son of a bitch!"
Dennis dancing with Javadi and Garcia, across the room seeing the commotion "ohh no- guys! trinity!" the three start making their way across the bar to trinity who was waving her hands in the man's face
"YOU'RE NOT WALKING AWAY UNTIL YOU BUY ME ANOTHER SHOT YOU STOLE MY FUCKING SHOT!" Trinity drunk, angry and slurring her words, Dennis and Garcia reaching the bar, Garcia paying and closing everyone's tab while Dennis tries pulling trinity away
"Trin- it's not worth it let's go!" Dennis getting a hold of her arm and trying to gently pull her back
"Its a fucking shot you cunt! If you want another, buy it yourself or blow me" drunk and getting in trinity's face,
"Trinity! Just walk away!"Garcia shouts at her
"He's not worth the trouble Trin" Dennis pulling her away
"yeah! either get me off or get out of my face I'm not buying you a free drink- walk away baby!" Smiling and laughing knowing he's pissing her off
"Kiss my ass you fucking creep!" Trinity shouts as she turns to walk away
The man laughing "Thanks for the drink!" slapping Trinity on the ass
Before Trinity could turn around to curse him out and slap him, she and Garcia hear a loud crack and thud, and pained cursing. They see the man on the ground cursing at whitaker with a bleeding nose with Whitaker standing over him. He grabs a fist full of napkins and press it to the guys face, after feeling it for a quick second "Quit your bitching, Its not broken, ice it asshole" Dennis reaches into the man's pocket and pulls out a wallet taking a $20 bill, handing it to trinity and throwing the wallet back at him before storming out with the girls
Dennis Whitaker Headcanon + Whitsantos siblingism Imagine
Whitaker is way stronger than he looks. Growing up on a farm in Nebraska he was hauling multiple bales of hay (60+lbs each) before school each morning and handled heavy farm machinery after school and on weekends, during summer too. Since he doesn't go around bragging about it, everyone typically underestimates the level of corn fed farm boy strength he has.
Trinity and Amy being the only ones in pittsburg who know,
The two are out, drunk and leaving a bar. Trinity wore platform boots with her outfit this night in particular. Dennis holding her up as they walk.
"fucking huckleberry fuck you i can walk by myself" trinity says pushing him away and stumbling ahead.
"no you cant youre drunk" dennis catching up with her and holding her up again.
"screw you, im a fucking gymnast i can do whatever i want you goddamn farm bitch im walking home by myself" trinity pushes dennis away , wobbly ankles and all
"trinity youre drunk im not letting walk home by yourself" dennis catching up with her
"fuck you" trinity gives him the finger "i am an independen woman"
"thats not gonna work on me trin" dennis staying close to her
"fuck off" trinity rolls her eyes
"nope we are leaving together " dennis keeping up with her
"never" trinity protests
"yes" dennis raising his brow
"fight me then i can kick your ass huckle-" dennis throws her over his shoulder and puts his coat over her ass "PUT ME DOWN"
"nope im taking you home and putting you to bed" dennis turns around and starts heading home
"i'll fight you" trinity smacks his back
"i'd probably win" Dennis ignoring it
"cover my ass fuckleberry stop giving everyone a free show" Trinity yells at him and smacks his back again
"i already did trinity" Dennis shakes his head, smiling at the nickname
"when we get home im feeding you to the rats" trinity huffs and crosses her arms
"they would enjoy that but then who would you fight with" dennis shoots back in a sarcastic tone, knowing how to properly argue with her at this point
"somebody who doesnt eat my avodcados" trinity slurring her words
"avocados, and you'd miss me" dennis teasing her as he carries her home
"SCREW YOU PUT ME DOWN" trinity shouts
"just admit it" dennis again still teasing her
"never" trinity huffs and argues
"awwww you would miss me" dennis pushing her buttons like the true little brother he is
"fuck off i can walk" trinity groans and curses at him
"your wearing platform boots your feet would bleed" dennis reminding her of her footwear
"no" trinity arguing back
"wanna test that theory i can make you walk if you really want that" dennis stops for a moment
"………….fuck you" trinity cursing not wanting to admit that he won this little back and forth
"so its settled im carrying you home thats that" dennis starts walking to their apartment again
"yeah well youre gonna have to put me down eventually im heavy your weak" trinity crossed arms not willing to admit she lost and eyeing bars they pass by
"no youre not, i grew up on a farm, ive carried heavier for longer distances" dennis shaking his head
"corn huskin bastard" trinity huffs and mutters
"love you too trin" dennis carrying her home
Consider Dennis Whitaker where despite actively studying medicine, whenever he’s working outside, anything parallel to farm work- He defaults to the put some dirt on it and move on mentality. There were no bandaids at home, no stopping to rest, if you didn’t lose a limb, you can still work
Robby had thought Jack was bad from his army days, but Dennis is ten times worse.
Why would he bother with a bandaid. He’s got a handkerchief in his pocket. He’s almost done anyways.
Yeah he rolled his ankle working in the yard. He’ll ice it after he comes in.
All the injuries he treats once spring starts in Pittsburgh, he just brushes off at home. He’s fine, he’s had worse. He’s got work to do, and all this fussing is just burning daylight.
Robby is about to have a stroke when Trinity tells him.
