Hi! You don't know me. I just saw your post and wanted to say that I am so sorry you have lost faith in Destiel becoming canon. I only recently got back into this series after three years because my frustration with the show became so much that I felt the need to take a break from it. I came back for Dean and Castiel, and I plan to stay for them for the time being. I allowed myself to get my hopes up about them being canonized. I read all the meta and everything but I just... lost faith. YANA <3

It’s hard, isn’t it? It’s like you lose your balance and flail around for a while needing to find a new equilibrium somehow. Some different mental place from which to keep watching (or not).

And you know, it’s funny. Non-fandom people probably assume that fans love the thing they’re fanning about. But it seems more common to be really really frustrated by the fannish object. We want to enjoy it but we seem to be let down more often than not. And it’s not just the SPN fandom, is it? It seems pretty common in general.

I hope you’ll be able to enjoy Supernatural, whatever happens in the show. Thanks for writing, it’s nice to get a response. :)  And remember, don’t think I know better than anyone else – I’m frequently wrong! Always judge for yourself.
