My great grandfather was Australian Aboriginal but didn't tell anyone in his family including his wife and children so we had to find out via genealogy tracing.

He also lied to my great grandmother about his mother being dead until a year into their marriage when he brought up going to visit her.

My great grandmother died in my grandmother's house and nobody told me until I overheard it at age 16 that the bed I slept in whenever I visited was the bed she died in.

There's not much to explain honestly I just. Ate so much carrot and pumpkin and sweet potato that I, quite literally, turned orange. My parents didn't even notice until someone asked if they'd dressed me up for Halloween as a pumpkin.

My mum went through nearly 20 hours of regular labor and then I got stuck in the birth canal bc I jammed my chin upwards. The poor woman then had to get a c-section. I was not a small baby, either.

Later on in my infancy I turned orange, but that's another story.
