strange the arc of character development
PIXIE AMORE
Today we feature a lovely local lady, who oozes glamour and owns the most beautiful pair of lips we ever did see.
The pretty as a picture Pixie Amore won the Birmingham Sugar Suite heat in September 2011.
What did it mean to you as a performer, and an individual to win your heat?
As this was my first ever time on stage it was a huge confidence boost to be told I had done well and that it didn't look like my first time on stage. Who or what inspires you as a performer?
The 40's, musicals, all the glamour of that era and how women held themselves back then What would it mean to you to win the finals?
I'm not sure what i would do if I won the finals! Having not been performing that long it would be a huge honour, but being in the finals performing with everyone is a fabulous experience in itself. Whats next for you in terms of your burlesque career?
I want to continue performing as much as I can and hopefully get my name out there as an established performer, maybe one day look at running my own night. If you could appear on the same bill as any performer (alive or not!) who would it be and why?
That's a tough one! I would love to meet Dita of course. Gypsy Rose Lee and Sally Rand would be amazing if i had a time machine! I love the elegance of it all back in the 40's . What are your top 3 make-up/hair products and why?
Expensive isn't always the best, I love the Asda own weatherproof hairspray, as its super strong no matter how hot and bothered I get and it adds a nice shine.
Classic black eyeliner down to a small wing tip never fails to look good! I find felt tipped eyeliners are the easiest to use.
Always curl your eyelashes if you aren't wearing false lashes to help keep looking bright eyed and long lashed.
Do you have any top tips for new performers starting out in 2012?
Pick a song you like, that you would like to perform to then just smile and go for it, even if you mess up no one will notice if you keep smiling.
