one Sherman was Violet’s first kiss and first person to really notice her after she joined witness protection. However, when they first met, Violet was ridiculously intimidated by him, for he was older and complimented her any chance he got. She warmed up to him after learning how dorky he really was, and the rest was (literally) history.
two Violet often likes to bring up history into the conversation, because she loves the way Sherman’s eyes light up and his demeanor changes when he gets to talk about his passion.
three If Sherman offered Vi one of his sweatshirts, she wouldn’t hesitate to say yes -- okay, she would, but only to be polite.
four At work, Vi can make mix tapes/CDs in the back room when she’s not working the floor. She’s only ever done it to make playlists to do homework or study to, but she’s been thinking of making one for Sherman -- now, all she has to do is find out his taste in music, and throw in a few favorite songs of her own.
five Vi knows that lying about why she moved around so much is a necessity, but Sherman is the first person she’s ever felt bad about lying to. It’s all she lies about to him, but even though Emporia isn’t bound to the government, she still worries about exposing her family’s secret, even to someone like Sherman.
six Vi has totally asked Sherman for history help, even if she knew about the topic she was working on. It wasn’t to seem dumb -- she was still her usual, smart self -- but she sometimes gets stuck on what to write about on history essays, especially if the specific moments she was prompted with were some of the more boring time periods. Fortunately, Sherman can make even the most boring moments in history seem interesting and fun, and that was one of the major reasons she would ask him for help -- that, and she just wanted to spend time with him.
seven There are multiple pages embarrassingly dedicated to Sherman in Vi’s diary. To be fair, she used to write literally everything she was feeling back then, and it just so happened that Sherman was a pretty prominent figure in her life. She just hopes he never sees how embarrassing her writing is.
eight Though Vi isn’t always a fan of conversations during movies, she loves talking with Sherman when they watch movies, because they usually pick a history movie for fun, and then laugh at all of the historical inaccuracies.
nine Vi loves to play with Sherman’s hair. Its just so fluffy looking, she can’t help but touch it (with his permission, of course).
ten Because she’s usually pretty private, Vi never told her siblings about kissing Sherman, but now that he’s back, it’s likely someone is going to get suspicious over how they bonded so quickly -- Vi doesn’t warm up to people that easily, but Sherman’s always been different.
one For his birthday, Vi buys Wirt a nice jacket, since he complains he’s always cold. It’s partially a joke, but it’s mostly just Violet being thoughtful and remembering the first time they met.
two She also would buy him more albums from Secondhand Serenade, in the hopes that he doesn’t have all of them already -- but those are for Christmas, because she just really, really loves celebrating Christmas.
three Vi is really happy when she sees Wirt visit her at work -- he’s one of her favorite people who visit. He has an album collection, so she loves to give him tips to help expand it based on her experience at the record store, and she loves hearing his recommendations for her, for though she works with music part-time, she doesn’t know everything, and it’s nice to discover new artists, especially at the recommendation of a friend.
four Wirt is one of the first few people Vi admits her superhero interest to. He caught her reading a comic book during her break at work, and she figured that if anyone wouldn’t judge her for it, it would be Wirt.
five Wirt is also one of Vi’s favorite people to get coffee with. He’s a coffee addict, and though she prefers tea, she’ll drink coffee, as well and she trusts his expertise when it comes to what places and brands are good.
six Though he’s much taller and older-looking, Vi often forgets that Wirt is so much older than she is. Maybe she’s just mature for her age, but the conversations they have and their relationship dynamic allows them to feel equal to each other, and she enjoys that very much. She’s sure she’ll be bombarding him with questions about college in no time, anyways.
seven Vi is bad at noticing a lot of things when directed at her, but she’s become good at reading the emotions of others, as she usually gets by unnoticed. This helps her notice when Wirt is in an especially bad mood, and she does what she can to cheer him up.
eight It also helps her notice when he has a crush, and she would try and get some information on that, as well.
nine When they hang out at her place, Vi always makes sure there are plenty of blankets for Wirt, because one of her roommates prefers the cold, and the rest have chosen to deal with it. It barely bothers Vi, but she knows it would bother Wirt.
ten Wirt is one of her tallest friends, and she can’t help but complain about how short she feels around him -- he’s nearly a foot taller than she is.
