Longchengornis is an Opposite Bird from the Jiufotang Formation of China, living about 120 million years ago, in the Aptian age of the Early Cretaceous. It is known from a partial articulated skeleton, including parts of the skull. It had long and slender legs with large hooked claws, indicating that it may have been a predatory bird, using those long legs to capture prey. Its hands retained their claws, though, indicating that this may have been a poor lander, instead landing and climbing up tree trunks in order to perch on branches.
