So I saw a post but was a bit old so won’t respond directly but: no, wanting a character to be book accurate doesn’t make you racist automatically , HOWEVER:
-Making a long post explaining that very simple point is sort of suspicious
- Going on how “I am concerned that this character’s actor is not white” is more suspicious
-Saying “I don’t care if someone is white or black or even yellow” yeah that last phrase…first, yellow? Seriously? And what’s with the “even”? And later added “you can be green for all i care” which means the yellow had another connotation than exaggerating. Like seriously what’s with “even”? , sorry but that does sounds a bit racist, even if you are not you sound like one
-And going “Annabeth (Leah) looks like Hazel” yeah, the characters have different eye color and hair color, so there’s no excuse in going by the “black women all look the same” narrative, which is, you guessed it: racist
If you can’t defend your point without saying racist stuff, then you are probably racist, i don’t know what to tell you
