"Markus?" Simone called as she rounded the corner and searched for him, her arms were cradling several bottles of thirium, one of them in danger of falling but she simply tightened her hold, "Are you in here?"

Markus was just walking down the hall when he heard a familiar soft voice calling for him. He made a turn towards the source of the sound, smiling brightly when he finally faced one of the newest members of his team.

“Hello, Simone. What can I do for you?” he asked gently, slightly tilting his head before his eyes fixated on the thirium filled bottles. “May I help you with these?”

"Markus?" Simon called from the doorway, a slight smile curling his lips and his eyes almost glowing with his excitement, "Are you doing anything right now?"

Markus peeked over the book he was reading when he heared someone come in. he smiled when he noticed it was Simon. 

“No, not really,” he shook his head and pur a bookmark in before closing the novel. He slowly stood up and made his way to the younger one, reaching out to hold his hands in his own. “Why are you asking, my dear?”

Simon limped back to Jericho, he was dirty and tired and he just wanted to come home. He wanted the comfort of another and he wanted to feel safe. He stumbled into the hallway, the damage in his thigh flashed and sparked, he had to wait for the strength to return before continuing to limp forward.

Markus felt terrible for the past few days, nearly banging his head against the wall. If only he was faster, he could have taken hurt Simon with them. Only god knew where he was, alone, and scared. Hopefully they didn’t find him and he was still alive…

He sighed, massaging his temples. Deciding he needed to get some fresh air, he got up from the chair and walked through the long hall. About halfway through he noticed a rather tall blond figure. Was that… Could it be…?

“Simon?” he said in a shaky voice, making a few steps forward.

“Simon!” he called when he was absolutely sure, rushing to him and tightly wrapping his arms around him, feeling tears running down his cheeks. “I’m so sorry Simon, oh god, I’m so sorry…”

Markus couldn’t help but chuckle, instinctively wiping his cheek which was just licked by his friend. “What was that for? Is that some new way of communication I don’t know about?”

Chloe felt her cheeks heating up, resulting them in glowing in a pale shade of blue, which was a perfect match to her eyes. “I uh… I have no idea what to say to that, but… thank you, I guess?” she giggled softly.

Elijah lifted his gaze from the book he was reading, an amused grin resting upon his face. “What’s that? Do you find me tasty or something?” he asked teasingly, holding back a laugh.

A surprised hum left Allen’s throat as he felt the cheek he was licked on, obviously not understanding Simone’s action. “Is this a sign of affection?” he asked softly, lightly tilting his head to the side.
