she was being incredibly dramatic. she knew that. and yet, somehow, she had convinced gerard that this was an absolute necessity. so she pulled up at some inconceivable time between three and six am, and told him he could sleep in the car but they were getting on the road. she kind of wasn't expecting to have to make good on her threats about ger being a schmuck or a shitty surfer, and if she was honest, she didn't trust him not to freeze up north. well that, plus she REALLY didn't want to wrestle her hair into a hood. road trip with her best friend, or having to worry about the idiot getting hypothermia ?? there was an obvious answer here. "i brought coffee, we're gonna stop at like hour four probably – i know it seems like i'm schlepping you all the way down there for no reason, but i PROMISE it's worthwhile."
