I was in the mood last week to draw some Gas giants :) Especially gas giants that are very much unlike the only 4 we have actual detailed photos of (Or at least I tried to make them very different). I based a lot of these off of the speculative Sudarsky gas giant classification. And I don't have many notes on these gas giants save for a few exceptions.
The Tidally locked gas giant is supposed to be modeled after the simulated cloud maps and wind patterns of real tidally locked exoplanets. Upscaled from the terrestrial models to apply to an actual Jovian world. This one was a pain in the ass to design specifically lol. Because I didn't know how to give a gas giant that kind of wind pattern and cloud map while keeping the design reminiscent of a standard jovian world. I ended up just using a liquify tool and going ham on the clouds and it ended up working lmao.
The Biogenic atmosphere one is a little self explanatory. A Water/Ammonia clouded gas giant with an active biosphere permeating the skies of the planet. There's enough life in the atmosphere to tint the horizon, sunsets, and deeper cloud layers various shades of muddy to neon green from a constant aeroplanktonic haze.
The metal clouds are also self explanatory. It's a Sudarsky class IV and V planet where the skies form layers of both Alkali and Silicate metal clouds. The atmosphere is extremely puffy and extends far into the stratosphere and the nightside glows with heat because this planet is hot as FUCK.
The pentagon is basically a gas giant that formed a similarly polygonal polar storm to the Satun Hexagon.
And the puffy and cloudless world is a true giant. A Sudarsky class III planet where it's just hot enough to barely form any water clouds but cool enough to avoid forming any Alkali metal clouds in the lower atmosphere. Besides a few stripes of water clouds this gas giant is clear skies all the way down. It's also super light in mass despite it's truly enormous size keeping it from becoming a brown dwarf and it spins fast enough to distort it's shape into a visible oval.
