Mornings run on it. I can’t get over the absurdity of those Keurig K-Cup systems. It’s bad enough the patented machine requires use of proprietary plastic k-cups, but worse when you consider all the new plastic filling up the landfills with plastic waste... I am perfectly happy filtering my ethical coffee through with biodegradable paper ... the used coffee grounds & filter are a lovely addition to any composter. I did get tired of coffee machines after a series of them that lasted less than a year each. Yuck. So now I use the awesome ceramic coffee cone pictured above. The filter basket doesn’t retain oily bitterness like plastic coffee machine filter baskets. These days unbleached paper basket filters cost the same as the bleached ones (and even less than the cone shaped ones). So they are an ethical and economic choice. They don’t fit inside the cone as nicely as cone shaped, but don’t break, either (as cone shaped filters have done more than once). I bought my ceramic cone filter basket at Guelph’s awesome Fair Trade coffee roastery Planet Bean (and where the beans came from, too)
