Random Thoughts v. 1.32
Life on Planet John:
I am finally at a point in my season schedule and teaching schedule where I have some down time. Well, it really is only 8 or 9 days. So I am going to take advantage of the lighter load.
First things first, I am going to catch up on the sleep that I have lost the past few months. Yes I know you can never catch up, but I am going to make sure I get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. This is something that I haven't gotten since maybe January.
Secondly I am going to walk on my treadmill everyday. No ands, ifs, or butts (wait I am try to get rid of the butt!). I have spent the past 2 days on the treadmill. I have walked 6 miles. I'm going to make sure I walk the next 7 days. Like I said no ands, ifs, or butts!
The third thing I plan on spending time is practicing. With no real interruptions and nothing pressing scheduled, there is time for a good 4 hours of practice a day. I am so looking foward to spending time with my flutes.
The fourth thing that I am going to plan is to spend time with my writing, my writing of text, my writing of music. I am just looking forward to have the time to really explore and create something. Not really sure what I am looking to create, but I just feel that I really have the need to do something that has been so out of the norm for my schedule this past season.
I am looking forward to spending time on Planet John. This is a phrase that was coined by my friends this week. I do not have internet at home, I do not have cable tv, I do not have regular tv, I do not have a land line, all I have is my cell phone so this means I tend to spend much time in my head. For better or for worse, I feel for the better I love my time on Planet John. Oh, the reason the Planet John reference, my friends were discussing the gentleman preaching of the rapture. I looked at the befuddled and confused. Then they said I must be living on Planet John again. Yes I admit it, it has to be some pretty big news for me to hear it. If I do not open twitter or faceplace for the day I really do not know what is going on Planet Earth. I really like Planet John. It is a great place of acceptance, learning, fun, friends, good food and great beer. What else does anyone need? Come and visit Planet John the next time you are in the neck of the universe. ;-)
