Count-down to All Soul’s Day (Halloween)-Samhain. Let’s visit one of our favorite Planet’s today as Mercury goes Retrograde. One of my personal favorites is.....a brief history...
Acheron, formerly known as LV-426, is one of three known moons orbiting Calpamos in the Zeta Reticuli system, 39 light years away from Earth. The moon was given its common name by the early human colonists who settled there. The main colonist base, Hadley's Hope, housed 158 people.
Acheron has an equatorial diameter of just 1,200 km. Despite its small size, it maintains a surface gravity equivalent to 0.86 of that on Earth, indicating it is largely composed of incredibly dense materials. Its rotational period is about 2 hours.The moon's crust is made up of aluminum silicates, although there is evidence of magnesium silicate intrusion, manifested on the surface as basalt, rhyolite and microgranite lava flows.
Acheron has no indigenous life forms, and it is not the Xenomorph homeworld; it was simply a desolate rock upon which an Engineer ship, containing Xenomorph Eggs and possibly live subjects as well, crash-landed. According to Weyland-Yutani surveys, Acheron was simply a dead rock.
LV-426 was first detected by Weyland Corp astronomers on May 14, 2039. The moon was subsequently cataloged by a French deep-space probe. The first comprehensive survey was not carried out until the 2130s, after the USCSS Nostromo set down on the moon in 2122.
(The only survivor of the Nostromo, who had just been rescued from deep space was subsequently impregnated by a Facehugger during his investigation of the ship, sparking a full-scale outbreak at the colony. A Queen established a Hive in the colony's Atmosphere Processor, and the Xenomorphs killed or captured, cocooned and impregnated nearly all of the colonists.)
In the early 23rd century, the Derelict's telemetry was traced from LV-426 to LV-1201, where Weyland-Yutani set up a new research facility to study the Xenomorphs. (The rest is history).....
"Day on Acheron was dim twilight, night was darker than the farthest reaches of interstellar space, because not even stars shone through its dense atmosphere to soften the barren surface with twinkling light."
And now, fast reverse in time, we realize that Xenomorph’s might be the only solution to a crisis in the United States and throughout the World-if only they could be trained. Time will tell. (Curator)

Martian selfies….
ELYSIUM PLANITIA, MARS (December 6, 2018) -- After a 301 million-mile (484 million-kilometer) voyage over six months, the NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) InSight spacecraft has landed on Mars....and begun setting-up shop for some of the most in-depth scientific data so far observed on our planetary neighbor.

I prepared this post with the same glee I felt as a young teenager in the late-1960s, when America was conducting similar activities on the surface of the Moon....in preparation for the first man to walk on the Moon nearly 50 years ago (July 20, 1969).
As I watched those first Moon explorations, I was already dreaming ahead of Mars....with the fervent hope that I would live to see the first human arrive on Mars.
May happen....
