Father’s Day Reflections:
How do the Sun, Jupiter & Saturn hold influence in our birth charts?
Does any of that influence reflect on how father figures have shown up in your life?
How can we take the influences of these planets to re-parent ourselves & show up as leaders and guides for our friends/family/community?
I danced with Djehuty
on the rings of Saturn,
stardust kicked into space,
as I danced with cosmic joy,
spinning, swirling, twirling,
disappearing into the dust,
my body made of nothing more
than the rings of Saturn Themself,
and my heart beat slowly
in the stillness of space,
stellar energy pulsing bright
from the very centre of my being
as Djehuty watched,
and Seshat recorded,
the low thrum of the universe
a constant presence,
a heartbeat on a heartbeat,
return, Djehuty said,
to recharge in this light,
to dance once again
on the rings of Saturn
Hello, I love your sight and your insights, and hope that you are doing well. I taking this course on influence and one of the assignments is to choose a planetary energy to work with. I had found/decided, with a lot of grappling, that I was drawn to/to work with Saturn. "Working with planets" is not something I'm familiar with so I was wondering if you had any advice on where to start? Or should work with another planet?
Saturn is a very good planet to work with, but only if you are prepared for the challenges it brings. As you might know, Saturn is one of the most strict planets and acts as a pedagogue towards wisdom. But since wisdom is best gained through overcoming struggle, Saturn will cause a person to begin facing challenges and become more aware of what they must change within themselves.
So it is not an easy planet to work with, but it is extremely helpful if one wishes to mature and gain more wisdom as quickly as possible. If this is what you wish, then you may try this path. Otherwise, you might be better with more gentle planets like Venus or Sol. There is also Luna, which makes us face our fears and doubts so we can become stronger and filled with better insight.
What do you think would be best for a moon altar?
Images of the moon, some moonstone, selenite, geodes, quartz, clear water, silver jewelry, daggers (for their warrior aspect), black/silver/white candles, sigils of the Moon (can be found online), the Moon's Planetary Square, a dream journal, and there's also a moon lamp you could get.
Hi, Felix, I have a slightly random question. On your description of the bookmarks, you say they are "imbued with Mercury energy". I've been trying to do some research on that type of thing, and failing. Can you explain how you imbue the energy of a planet into something... or point to some resources that I can use to learn about that? Thanks!
For that bookmark, I did a few things:
Focused on the idea of mercurial forces while designing and creating it
Worked with an entity (in this case the King of Scribes from @courtofwip) who has consistently had mercurial energy and outright told me to use Mercury (planetary, not deity, though they often intersect/overlap) symbolism when depicting him many times before.
Literally put Mercury symbols in there via the quill for communication, the Caduceus symbolism with the snakes entwined around the quill, and the symbol of Mercury in the quill’s nib
I approach it artistically and go about it in that manner. I’m not the best at planetary correspondences but I’m pretty solid on anything grecoroman mythology and Sailor Moon taught me. (BTW Sailor Moon was created by a woman who is super into astrology so the correspondences are pretty solid tbh.) You can do it al sorts of ways and IMO there’s not any one correct way to connect with the energies. There’s a whole ton of correspondences out there for the planets if you want to try any number of magical techniques, though I can’t say which is the most correct correspondence system.
That being said, I do not do a lot of timing-specific astrological stuff yet and things can get very detailed and complex if you want to do things on a day/hour/astrologically good time for a planet.
