I'd like to introduce to yall.... PLANET BOY!!

He's an OC of mine that I randomly started doodling everywhere, and now I've got a large drop of people at my school who love planet boy, so I figured, why not put him on tumblr.

Yes, he does have 6 moons, and yes the largest moon is a permanent crescent, but it's still being decided how we are explaining it's a permanent crescentness, our thoughts on it right now are that it was either formed that way or something crashed into it (kinda like assassination classroom, except it isnt deteriorating over time)

So yeah that's planet boy, I hope you love him as much as we do!!

One time I drew him on a whiteboard (before I decided to give him moons) in one of my classes and someone drew a bunch of other planets around him and it really made me smile, because like I have no clue who this person is but he just went with it, and i spent a few days trying to figure out who it was or if I knew them, and i found put that in fact i have no clue who he is just that his name is Dylan, so here's the family he drew:

And I've also got a friend who spent the time to draw planet boy on his calculator!! Sadly he couldnt make the crescent moon but he took like an hour making him, and its kind of crazy how much people love planet boy

Plantboy, Planetboy

Summary: Planetboy (Dan) stays after hours and flirts with the cashier of a coffee shop.

Warnings: shit ending, two smol references to the video

Phil hated coffee. He didn’t mind the bitter smell that suffocated anyone in the little shop at first, but now after working here for nearly a year, he was over it. It left his clothes smelly even after a few washes.

Then there was the coffee pot that was constantly breaking. His coworkers were rarely doing anything but taking orders and leaving them for Phil, so it was up to him to fix everything. He often had as many as 10 orders at once, so he wasn’t as careful to be slow and spilled coffee or various creamers all over the counters.

It was his fourth shift so far this week, and the shop was dead. Phil had decided to check on the cute little house plants in the corner of the shop. If he was honest, Timothy, Kevin, Poe, Steve, and Han were the only reason he stayed at this shop anyway. He smiled, happily watering the plants and listening to the calming Oh Wonder playing through the speakers.

Twenty minutes later, five minutes before closing time, Phil was wiping down the tables and preparing to lock up when the little bell above the door chimed.

He looked up in surprise, to be met with someone who had to have been at least 6’2” and dressed in a galaxy jumper and black skinny jeans. Phil noticed his nose was pierced and turned his eyes before they wandered too much.

Phil was as straight as cooked spaghetti, is all.

“Oh, the shop is closing in five minutes. Sorry. There’s a coffee shop down the street a bit if you’re interested.” Phil said, drying his hands and moving the bucket of soapy water back behind the counter.

The boy smiled, biting his lip. “The sign outside says you don’t close for another 20 minutes on Thursdays.”

Phil glanced at the side of the wall by the syrups. Shit. On Thursdays, they closed a little later than normal, as more people in the shops around got off later.

“You’re right. Sorry. What can I make for you, then?” he asked, his cheeks turning slightly crimson.

“Caramel Macchiato thanks.” The boy, who’s name Phil still hadn’t got around to asking for, took a seat at a bar stool at the end of the counter.

“Small or Medium?” Phil asked.

“Small.”

“Right, okay. And you’re name?” Phil glanced up. The boy was adjusting his slightly curling hair, a light blush tinging his cheeks.

What a lovely shade of rose Phil thought, himself blushing. This was a random customer. No need to get all mushy.

“Dan.”

“Alright, Dan. That will be £3.75.”

“You’re in no hurry to leave are you?” Phil asked, glancing at the clock. 10 minutes until they closed, and Dan was still sat on the bar stool.

“Nope.” Dan smiled, his pearly white teeth gleaming in the soft glow of the ceiling lights. Or maybe it was just Phil.

Phil rested his head on his hand, looking at Dan fondly, though he wouldn’t admit it to himself.

Dan’s voice reminded him of Winnie the Pooh in the way that he was very articulate and had a lovely accent. His hair was obviously straightened that morning, but was curling from the rain and humidity outside. His nose piercing was small and fit his face perfectly. On Dan’s left wrist were three small planets, the moon, and a dozen or so stars weaving around little white lines. Tattoos. Phil loved this boy already.

“We close soon.”

“I think you love me enough that I can stay and admire your plants.” Dan smiled, taking another sip of his coffee. Did he ever stop smiling?

Phil perked up at that.

“You like the plants? I’m the one who takes care of them.” Phil’s voice was higher and the excitement was evident. He had found someone that possibly appreciated his hard work to keep those plants from getting brown tips.

“They’re beautiful. Almost as much as you.”

Phil blushed, jumping up slightly and making sweater paws. (Another reason he loved working here, they were allowed to wear pretty jumpers. Phil’s was mint today.)

“Sorry?” he mumbled, looking down at his voice crack. Way to embarrass himself.

“I called you pretty, you spoon. What’s your favourite planet?” he asked, chuckling slightly at Phil’s flustered appearance.

Phil frowned, this boy changed subjects faster than Usain Bolt could run.

“Saturn, I think?” Phil took a sip of his own coffee he had made himself, knowing this ‘Dan’ wasn’t leaving anytime soon.

“What? I prefer Jupiter.” Dan looked personally offended. “Saturn is so overrated, don’t you think? Well no, you don’t because that’s your favourite. Like, look. It has rings. So does Uranus. Why the fuck isn’t Uranus appreciated, I-” he waffled on for a long seven and a half minutes, only stopping to breathe.

Phil stared in wonder. This boy was perfect. How could someone be so passionate about something that he’d never seen?

Dan finally stopped talking, blushing slightly under Phil’s stare.

He fumbled with the neck of his t-shirt, slightly revealing a chest tattoo that Phil didn’t catch much of.

“Wow. So you hate Saturn?” Phil asked.

“Were you not listening? I said I don’t mind it, it’s pretty, but Jupiter is /so/ much better.” Dan shook his head, tossing his empty coffee cup into the trash bin.

“I’d better be going. You closed a long time ago.” Dan smirked at Phil’s flustered look, knowing exactly how he felt about Dan.

“See you later, Plant Boy.”

Dan didn’t come back to the shop for three days, finally arriving on Monday. He was dressed in a gray shirt and black jacket, black skinny jeans showing off his legs. He had gotten his lip pierced since he last visited, Phil noted.

There were five other customers, all already with coffee and reading or on their laptops. One couple was drawing together in the corner, filming it.

“Same as last time, please.” Dan smiled, his white teeth showing.

“Sure, Dan.”

“So you remembered.”

“Well, yeah.” Phil chuckled awkwardly, turning to make Dan’s coffee.

“I thought I was just a ‘random customer’.”

“Random customers don’t stay for twenty minutes past closing time, Dan.” Phil smiled, writing Dan’s name on the side of his cup.

“Shhh….” Dan giggled softly.

Dan stayed for another twenty minutes, sitting at the counter and watching as Phil served many other customers, and then followed him out after he left work.

“Is there a reason you are following me or are you not going to say anything?” Phil asked, smiling awkwardly and putting in a single headphone.

“Lunch? Do you like Nandos?” Dan asked.

“I was just planning on walking home actually.” Phil checked his phone. “I don’t have to come back in today.”

“Oh uh...would you mind if” Dan paused, biting his lip.

“You can come, Dan. Jesus.”

They were sat on the couch later still, around 8pm, and Dan was hesitantly leaning against Phil’s shoulder as they watched Wall-E.

“I’ve only known you for a few days…” Dan begun, but stopped himself. was he really going to do this?

Phil looked up. “Hmm?”

“I uh...i feel like I’ve known you forever.”

“And I kinda want to kiss you, even if you prefer Saturn.”

Phil giggled, trying to hide his blush with his hands.

“Sorry.”

“Just kiss me you spoon.”

Dan leaned in, smiling and pressing his lips softly against Phil’s.

Phil’s stomach did that flippy-over thing, and he smiled into it as Dan’s hand came to caress his cheek.

Dan’s lip piercing was cold, and sent shivers down Phil’s spine.

They broke apart for air, Dan’s eyes widening.

“Oh my god.”

“Yeah?”

“I think I’m in love with you.”

“I love you too, you sappy planetboy.”

the entrepreneurs badge

Most days I stop somewhere between 11am and 1pm. I just stop, close the laptop, put the phone on vibrate and place it facedown and breathe. Actually, it's not "most days"…it's just about everyday. Now, as a hard charging entrepreneur involved in several ongoing entities and about to launch a brand new project, it defies the odds.

Right?

Actually I think the question is "whose odds"? This has been my world (entrepreneurism) for the greater part of my adult life and the badge of honor has always been to NOT stop. To NOT need sleep. To NOT worry about eating because the hustle would carry me through. And then I just stopped. I stopped trying to force things. I stopped trying to dig deeper for the answers to my hurdles. I stopped trying to earn that nutty entrepreneur's badge of honor that says we MUST push through and not sleep and not eat and work 18 hour days all day every day and miss the kids, the fam and LIFE.

Because there really isn't a badge, 

And here is the miracle that happened when I just stopped.

I got to go run for an hour.

I got to clear my head.

I got to have lunch w my wife.

I got to listen to Green Day "F.O.D."

I got to spend a few hours a day on revitalizing me and the miracle that happened is that the hurdles went away. In those moments of clarity I found a different path…I "saw" a new way…I met a new human…I literally stopped to smell some roses.

And it is glorious.

The single best strategic move I have ever made as an entrepreneur has been to STOP.

Crazy no?

Yeah…it is. 

Now if you'll excuse me it's time for my daily STOP.
