It has been a very, very long time since we have updated on here, but we wanted to share with you some of our upcoming things going on for this summer!
First, Peach and SkinWalker will be at Planet Comicon in Kansas City this coming weekend! We look forward to seeing all of you there!
Second, we are planning to lead a panel or two at Anime Fest Wichita this June on DIY Cosplay 101. Which we want to invite all you lovely creatures to join us for!
Third, we will be debuting our very own Conure in his very first cosplay with us, also at Anime Fest Wichita in June!
Lots of exciting things happening this spring/summer!
In honor of PCC this weekend, we felt it would be appropriate to share some of SkinWalker’s makeup practice shots for the Rurouni Kenshin cosplay!
For those of you who have little to no idea of what/who Rurouni Kenshin is here is a brief intro:
“Himura Kenshin is a vagabond with a dark past and sunny disposition. Not a ronin but a rurouni, he was never a samurai, but an assassin of utmost skill in the Meiji restoration, who in the turning point of the war simply walked away. His travels lead him to Tokyo in the 11th year of the Meiji era, where he befriends a female Kendo master, a former thief, a brawler and a doctor all with their own secrets. Together they fight off the enemies surfacing from the dark past that Kenshin cannot escape.” - AnimeNewsNetwork
There have been many renditions of Kenshin Himura over the years.
There is the ‘Samurai X’ remake.
As well as some very, very beautiful fan art.
But for SkinWalker’s cosplay, we decided on a more classic look, based on images like the following.
This makeup run through involved some light contouring, as well as some wonderful circle lenses.
And of course, you can’t forget the classic X scar on his left cheek. We skipped on the scarring liquid for this practice run, so all you get here is the makeup color.
Can we also just talk for a second about the volume on those bangs? The amount of backcombing alone took forever. ^0^
Anywho. We will be providing a makeup walkthrough later on for this particular cosplay, so keep and eye out, and come see us at PCC!
