The core of f1 is technical innovation despite everyone now thinking the core of f1 is cute friendships between the drivers. Anyway, the teams all have to find the most creative way to get around the regulations and create the fastest car as possible so the expanding titanium plates on the plank that allowed for the car to be set up lower and not cause plank wear was legal and fine until the fia decided it wasn’t. It was just being creative which is what f1 teams have to be all the time really.
