my little haven 🌿
The Plant Barn, Chico California.
Plants and animals have always been the surface on which humans have etched the foundations of culture, sustenance, and identity. For Ellen Jewett natural forms are a continual source of fascination and deep aesthetic pleasure. At first glance her work explores the more modern prosaic concept of nature: a source of serene nostalgia balanced with the more visceral experience of 'wildness' as remarkably alien and indifferent.
LEAF PROPAGATION WEEK 2
I transferred all my rooting plants into one tray and all my slower rooters in another. I’m really pleased with how fast everything is rooting.
Almost all of my Black prince props have rooted, although there are a few slow growers because they werent plucked as cleanly as the others. Nevertheless, they still look healthy and I’m sure they’ll be able to grow well.
I’m really surprised at how well the debbies are doing. I love debbies and it’s so nice to see them rooting. I hope they grow well for me!
I have a jelly bean leaf in there that I found on the home depot floor and it already has a baby forming!
There are also a lot of baby leaves forming from my sedum/graptosedum. Not so much roots though.
My lucita leaves are thriving but most are very slow at rooting. There’s one that’s definitely faster than the rest though.
MVP leaf from my Topsy turvy/Doppler was a result of bad leaf breaks while I was trying to take some leaves off the mom plant, Diana. I swear she is very attached to her leaves I had like no clean breaks at all. They all broke badly. BUT Di’s leaf is doing well. Sucha tough baby.
Last but not least, I have some PvNs that are rooting at an incredibly fast pace. They just like to root, those PvNs.
I hope this growing keeps up. I’m that much closer to restoring my plant army to its former glory.
its just me and him against the world
