Description du patron de plastron. — Nous croyons être agréable à nos lectrices en leur offrant un patron de plastron pouvant se mettre avec veste figaro, rien n’est plus simple que ce modèle et cependant combien il change et embellit l'aspect d’une toilette par sa variété de couleurs, car, vu sa simplicité, on peut en faire de toutes nuances; comme façon il se compose d'un lé de soie froncé du haut sur un col droit fil, ce col est froncé à tète au milieu et garni de chaque côté par des choux, il s’agrafe derrière par deux agrafes et portes, le bas est simplement ourlé et rentré dans la jupe, pour le maintenir on met de chaque côté une épingle qui le tient au cache-corset.

FLY RIVER TURTLE (Pig-nosed Turtle) Carettochelys insculpta ©Laura Quick The pig-nosed turtle is unlike any other species of freshwater turtle. The feet are flippers, resembling those of marine turtles. The nose looks like that of a pig, having the nostrils at the end of a fleshy snout, hence the common name.

The carapace is typically grey or olive, with a leathery texture, while the underneath plastron is cream-coloured.

Pig-nosed turtles are not completely aquatic. Little is known about their general behavior, as there have been few studies in the wild. Their known extreme aggression in captivity suggests the species is markedly more territorial than most other turtles and tortoises.

They are omnivores, eating a wide variety of plant and animal matter, including the fruit and leaves of figs, as well as crustaceans, molluscs and insects.
