kinda starting to work out, but I'll have to change the ankle rigging to non-elastic straps

*Breaking an ankle is not nearly as fun as breaking a long bone in the middle, you'll never really recover. I kinda understand the risks, so I'm taking a chance, but I'll need to be extremely cautious

Trying to figure out how where and how the straps should sit: they need to keep the shoes in place, but also yield enough to allow for the natural, "rolling" movement of the foot.
(UPDATE: this is not the right configuration, I'm going to modify it asap)
Notice I have cut off a wedge from my insulation block at the frontal underside. This is also needed to make movement more natural: take a look at the nose of any leasure shoe, you'll notice the underside curves slightly upwards.

Shoe shopping
I am sitting here contemplating a toe. It is not a bad toe, as toes go. While it may never win a modelling contract, it would not call down squeamish aversion. Unless, of course, one is averse to toes in general. I know this toe intimately. Know its quirks and its uncanny talent for weather forecasting. I know its history. I am, after all, rather attached to it.
