Is anybody else like extremely angry that there's only like four trustworthy YouTubers? The rest of them have all either taken sketchy sponsorships, flip-flopped randomly, are just randomly bigoted, or defended Graham Platner until it was unsalvageable. Usually it's a mix of several of them, if not all of them. It feels like good faith actors aren't a thing at this point. It feels like leftists don't actually exist online.

Let alone, even after it was absolutely undeniable that Graham Platner is 100% evil, people still went and compared it to Trump, instead of taking it for face value. You don't need to lessen Platner's malice in order to advocate for leftist policies. That's just absolutely absurd.

There was the NYT Magazine interview. As I was reading that interview, what was going on in my mind was: They Know Something I Don't Know. What is it. And why aren't they asking questions about whatever it is they are all hiding. Did the people at the magazine think that was a normal interview. This is called journalistic malpractice. The smugness factor around that interview was off the charts. You sat on the story. I absolutely refuse to listen to NYT ever again telling me over and over that they follow journalistic ethics to the letter. No. You do not. Even in this story, you are doing a song and dance about what you knew and when you knew it. It is disingenuous. YOU KNEW. How dare you not ask those questions. You were leading him AND us. You were waiting to attack. I have one little curiosity. Would you be willing to put the same time and energy and money and work into looking at whether or not Platner was set up. Would the republicans even bother to set him up. Yes. They would. And everyone knows they would. Who will be the next democrat to be accused of rape. If they can do it to one candidate, why not others. Will NYT explore the possibility of a set up. No. They gave him an interview to see if they could trip him up but NYT is just not that skilled, and they failed to make him trip over anything. But as a reader, I KNEW what you were doing because it was so obvious. The New York Times is not telling us the whole story and the gloating quite frankly, is sickening.

Exclusive: Woman who dated Graham Platner says he sexually assaulted her

A woman who dated Maine U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner says he forced her to have sex with him nearly five years ago despite her repeated objections, an allegation Platner denies. The woman, a 41-year-old Maine resident named Jenny Racicot, detailed the alleged incident to POLITICO in three interviews over the past two weeks. POLITICO also spoke with a man Racicot dated and confided in the years after the alleged incident, and reviewed documents, including emails between Racicot and her therapist and messages between Racicot and an acquaintance whom she warned against getting involved with Platner years before he ran for office. Racicot said she had an on-and-off relationship with Platner, who is now the Democratic Senate nominee in Maine, for more than two years before he entered her rural Maine home uninvited one night in late 2021, deeply intoxicated, and forced himself on her while she repeatedly told him to stop. She said she cut off contact with him after telling him the encounter was not consensual. “I remember him grabbing my pelvis and being really forceful of me,” she said. “I remember the specific moment where I thought to myself, like, ‘This is no longer my choice.’”***

“One of the reasons I didn’t come forward sooner was, the huge moral conflict that I had between supporting his politics, but not supporting him as a person,” she said. “I just want the truth out there. I just want people to have a whole scope of who he is as a person.”*** Racicot told POLITICO she connected with Platner on the dating app Bumble in 2019 and had consensual relations with him prior to the night he allegedly assaulted her. That night in late 2021, she said she had exchanged text messages with him and told him not to come over, saying she wasn’t in the mood for company. Later that evening, she said she realized when she heard a sound on the stairs that he had let himself into her house, which was unlocked. Platner came up the stairs, Racicot said, to where she was on a couch. He got on top of her and kept grabbing her, she said, while she repeatedly told him to stop and that she wasn’t interested. Racicot said she smelled alcohol on his breath and believed he was “almost blackout drunk” because Platner ignored her protests and continued to grab her after knocking over an antique sewing kit, spilling small needles everywhere.

“I had been telling him these words, like: ‘No, don’t,’” she recalled. “And, the look on his face and realizing what was happening, I just realized that, like, I am in a situation where there’s no consent here,” she said. Racicot said she tried to separate herself from Platner by telling him she couldn’t be in that room anymore, after which he followed her to her bedroom and had sex with her against her will. She said he also ejaculated inside of her despite her telling him not to, as she was not using birth control at the time. She went to clean herself up, she said, and when she returned, Platner had fallen asleep. She contemplated waking him up to kick him out, but worried he could hurt someone driving in the state he was in.***

I have to spend a little time on this since it really tells you a lot about where our politics are at. First, the accusation, reported by Politico in an explosive new piece: Platner’s ex-girlfriend says he broke into her house and raped her. Or, as the media is phrasing it, “he entered her rural Maine home uninvited” and “forced himself on her while she repeatedly told him to stop.” Hmm. There’s a word for that! Now, here’s the odd thing. That very same accuser, Jenny Racicot, had earlier spoken to The New York Times. Weeks ago they published their own Platner sex scandal story. But it was soft. It didn’t include the rape. What NYT supporters say is that she didn’t want to go on the record with it. The other way to see it—my way, the bad way—is that it looks like that the story was a sort of catch-and-kill, in which they got the facts and downplayed them to protect Platner. Because they did know everything. They had been told about that sexual assault....
