We all know where this is going. Anyone who says: "Shut down that White House," has my undivided attention. Name me one politician who has said that. One. Name me one. Am I supposed to care about where he went to school. The reader always has to discern the petty from the relevant. The writer's job is to find the stereotype and feed it to us like slop. The media is an animal quite capable of eating its young. When I first heard of Platner, I needed to know more (like immediately). What I confronted was a picture of his high school. Like that means something. When I read that he had been expelled, this was the guy for me. Where do I sign up. The American fetish for school status is so yesterday. So, now do we get an erudite interview with the first grade teacher. Probably. "Shut down that White House" does it for me. The democrats do not have what it takes to do exactly that. The democrats have failed us. They will do everything they can to bring Platner down. They are the black flies of Maine. Seasonal. We need tar repellent. We have failed ourselves. I am looking for someone with values. Someone who is not a pedophile protector. Someone who is not a thief. Someone who respects women. Someone who does not get off on separating families. Someone who does not drag people from their cars to throw them into concentration camps. I want pictures of those concentration camps. Take your pictures of some school in Bangor and shove them. When will you people start getting real. The New York Times cannot keep repeating the old paradigms where school was anything more than a demonstration of caste and class. Being expelled is not a failure. Often, it is a failure of the school. This is all about class and caste because it has to be. Platner's real problem are the democrats who currently feel threatened and they should be threatened. They will create (it is already created) a weaponized machine to crush him. I guarantee it.

With his experience in the firm of Eero Saarinen and Associates, it is not surprising that the mantel for the second generation of pedestal and wire furniture fell on the creative shoulders of Warren Platner. Reflecting a dramatic shift in cultural values, modernism became more expressive in the 1960s. Platner felt there was an opportunity to merge the competing aesthetics of the time. “I began to think about what I thought furniture, specifically a chair, really might be, starting with the philosophy that it isn’t going to be aggressively technological, or aggressively handicraft…I, as a designer, felt there was room for the kind of decorative, gentle, graceful kind of design that appeared in period style like Louis XV, but it could have a more rational base instead of being applied decoration…I thought why separate support from the object. Just make it all one thing. Starts at the floor and comes up and envelops me, supports me…What I wanted to achieve was a chair that, number one, was complementary to the person sitting in it, or to the person in the space between the wall and the chair — what the chair did for the person in respect to the scale of the person and the space.”
