Some Self Indulgent LAMP (Patton Specific) Head Canon
T/W: Touch Starvation, Bad feelings, Sensory Overload, Panic Attacks?? (Patton feels a lot at once and it could be similar to a panic attack for some, please be careful)
I’m angsty, touch starved, and cold and this the result of that.
-So Patton is really touch starved.
-Like he obviously craves hugs but he really just wants any friendly contact or any type of contact (that isn’t hurting him)
-But he’s really scared to ask, because he feels pathetic and he doesn’t want to force the other sides to hug him if they don’t want to (he honestly feels bad for that time he hugged Thomas as one of Thomas’s friends)
-His coping mechanism is a blanket, that he pretends is a chest, and his pilllows and stuffed animals.
-Anytime a Side actually hugs him he has to hold himself back from holding on forever because it feels so nice.
-Occasionally he’ll have a bad day or it’ll have been so long since he’s had some actual friendly contact that it sends him into overdrive sense wise and he’ll actually have to avoid contact until he can calm down.
-He’s honestly not sure if he liked this better because overstimulation really freaking hurts but at least he doesn’t feel so empty now.
-And he knows he’s touched starved. He figured it out and researched this, it’s just solving it that’s the issue.
-The others catch onto something hurting him eventually but don’t get it until Virgil how quickly Patton cling onto him after Virgil offered him a hug.
-Virgil almost cringed at seeing Patton recoil a bit after though, as almost if he was ashamed, and Virgil really hoped he wasn’t.
-He tells this to the others later and they admit that they don’t really hug him either, but it makes sense that Patton would crave the most affection.
-They talk to Patton about it and he admits that he is, and he almost seems ashamed.
-The other three ask if they could hug him and he just nods.
-They group hug and Patton almost recoils because this is too much but also not enough.
-Patton eventually breaks the hug and walks back a bit and he feels better but also worse because he misses their warmth so much.
-The others try to understand and from then on try to have more friendly contact with him because he really needs it.
