God, i love characters that can’t accept help, who need to be coaxed and convinced to allow themselves to be taken care of by others, who have a tough time admitting defeat. I love characters who basically have to be wrestled into being helped, and more importantly, comforted and to allow themselves to relax…
Then the euphoria of them finally submitting, allowing themselves to be helped and accepting praise, comfort, care, all’a that… so nice 🥰❤️🩹💗💓🌈
The bromance of all time (I hope I won't offend anyone)
more BHAU art. Wander and Sylvia reunite for the first time after all those years of being seperated
I know it's only my second post on this blog but I felt the need to ramble about wander over yonder.
Specifically, about the relationship between wander and Sylvia.
I don't usually use words such as "queerplatonic" but I think wander and Sylvia embody this concept really well.
What I mean is that they're not lovers but you can hardly write off their relationship as "just friends". I find it fascinating the way their relationship constantly stretch out the limits of what is conventionally acceptable for platonic friends.
They share drinks
They sleep close together
They casually go to a romantic restaurant together (granted, maybe wander was just here to stalk hater lol)
Most blatantly, their relationship awake the romantic jealousy of a crazy planet.
A lot of their moments are very intimate sweet. They also say "I love you" to each other multiple times.
What's more, they constantly put each other first, they're very touchy with each other, I could go on.
A lot of their moments can be traditionally interpreted as romantic. Does that make them lovers? Of course not. Love is often understanding as a binary between "friends" and "lovers" but wander and Sylvia goes way beyond that. There's nothing to understand other that they love each other and are very comfortable with expressing it regardless of the limits of "Platonic display of affection".
Wander over yonder portray platonic love as it own form, as powerful as romantic love. And I think it's both refreshing and important.
WANDER AAAARRRTTTT
“A love me like he should one
Like he wrote the book one
The kind you find when you don’t even look one
Anybody can be good ones, but he’s good all the time
He’s one of the good ones
And he’s all mine
He’s one of the good ones…
And he’s all mine.”

I've been thinking about wander relationship with Sylvia when she was still a bounty hunter. I have some headcanons.
I think Sylvia started out pretty cynical. She didn't believe that someone would do good just for good sake. That led her to constantly second guess wander's kindness towards her, wondering what he want to get in return. She takes some time to understand wander's selflessness.
Secondly, I think wander was wanted for petty reasons, like accidentally humiliating a big guy by beating them at a strength game or something. Sylvia is used to chase after criminal who are no better than the people wanting them dead. Her pride won't let her sell out someone for something so ridiculous and she end up never giving him in.
At first, the reason why Sylvia let wander stick by her side is because she see him getting into ridiculously dangerous situations and she think he will end up dead left by himself. He awake her protective side.
Sylvia would not let wander hop on her back at first. It happened progressively. First is when they had to flee from a villain ship and Sylvia noticed that wander was slower on foot than her (usually) and actually order him to hop on her back. As Sylvia felt more and more comfortable around wander, carrying him on her back became natural. I like to think Sylvia was the one who suggested to get a saddle so he'd be more comfortable. This is what sealed their relationship as a long partnership and wander was overjoyed by her trust towards him.
