Updated my scar ref sheet for Sev bc the rest have been ass, hell i may even eventually just redo everything anyway but for now this'll do :)
Been dissociated for a few days, but it's cool.
I think the VCUG i had is the reason i am so willing and able to hold myself together and walk headstrong into difficult shit that needs to be done, like medical procedures, actual life-altering decisions and deaths. And why i can walk other people through those things. Things that are just totally unavoidable or beneficial to healing from injury or an emergency, i can soldier myself through, no matter how painful.
Just something i'm chewing on atm.
🌌
I've been thinking, it's curious that the maradeurs fandom loves making up excuses to justify the bullying Snape suffered... but we never see the maradeurs themselves naming bad things that Snape has done to them or to muggleborns. The most we get as a justification is Sirius saying that Snape was "sneaking around and trying to get them in trouble". And of course he would try to get them expelled, those are his bullies. In fact, Snape was trying to solve this in a very pacific way.
It's almost as if... young Snape didn't actually do anything against the maradeurs, and his worst "crime" was saying slurs as a teenager - which is bad, but doesn't warrant the level of violence against him.
Honestly, the level of seriousness that fucking haters assign to saying a slur when you’re 15 is ridiculous to me. They think a slur is worse than public humiliation or an attempted murder — they really need to reorganize their ethical and moral system.
I will scream from the rooftops until i die:
Severus Snape was and is a tender soul who always kept his hands to himself if he could help it.
He abided by rules the best he could, he did everything in his power to be protected or admired or loved and he got none of that. Neglect and abandonment and resentment from all sides is so so so fucking painful. Him being an edgy douche at worst is not worthy of what was done to him.
What do you think about the claim that Snape ‘objectified’ Lily because he only asked Voldemort to spare her, not her husband and child?
It’s utter, weapons-grade bullshit.
Look, on the one hand, it’s perfectly normal that the only thing that comes to his mind is saving the person who matters to him and that he forgets everything else. That’s a very human reaction. But even if it had all been completely calculated and Severus were the cold, scheming bastard everyone insists on turning him into in that scene, what sense would it actually make for him to ask for anything other than Lily’s life?
James was not Lily’s husband to him. James was his fucking abuser. He was a guy who spent seven years tormenting him, who gave him a dehumanising and humiliating nickname, who constantly hunted him down, and who went as far as publicly sexually assaulting him. Why on earth should he save him? Why should he beg for the life of someone who abused him? I’m sorry, guys, but I wouldn’t do it either.
People make up this idea that Severus wanted James dead so he could “have” Lily, but in what universe does Lily have anything to do with his problem with James? Severus’s issue with James is not about Lily. It’s about the fact that James was an abuser and Severus was his victim. And no victim of abuse owes their abuser compassion, empathy, or mercy. Full stop. Everything else is pure victim-blaming designed to demonise Severus and cover up the real nature of his hatred for James—which has nothing to do with possessiveness or objectifying Lily, and everything to do with the abuse and mistreatment he suffered at James Potter’s hands. End of story.
On the other hand, what sense would it have made to ask for Harry’s life when Harry was Voldemort’s primary target? It’s as absurd as saying, “Hey, Dark Lord, I know this kid is destined to kill you and all that, but would you mind letting him live so he can grow up and fulfil the prophecy?” Like—are we actually stupid? Do people genuinely not apply basic logic to this?
How different do you think Severus life would be if he'd been in Ravenclaw instead, in particular his relationship with Lily, the way the teachers treated him and the Marauders
People focus way too much on the house, when in reality Severus’s problem wasn’t just Slytherin. Being in Slytherin made it easier for him to be recruited by the Death Eaters because the environment he moved in was very closed-off and most of his peers came from pure-blood families, but what really led him to join and become alienated was that outside of that environment, he had nothing.
Outside of it, there was only his family, which was terribly dysfunctional, violent, and poor. In fact, his biggest aspiration was probably to enter the wizarding world because the expectation of going there was much better than what he had, since what he had was a pretty miserable life, lacking both financial resources and emotional support from his parents.
Then he becomes even more withdrawn within the school itself, because when he gets to that supposed place where things should be better, he ends up being mocked, bullied, and mistreated by a group of rich boys who supposedly care about social justice but actually just exploit their social advantage to mess with people for their own amusement. The Marauders didn’t treat him badly because he was in Slytherin, it’s confirmed that James’s issue with him wasn’t his house but his friendship with Lily. James was jealous that Lily was friends with another boy and basically targeted him because of that.
So even if he had been in Ravenclaw, it’s quite likely Severus would still have become a target of bullying simply for being Lily’s friend, because at the end of the day James was pretty toxically masculine. If that had been the case, I think Severus would have ended up aligning himself with whatever he perceived as opposed to or in conflict with the Marauders anyway.
In the end, people who dislike Severus deny it a lot, but I do think that if he hadn’t suffered the bullying he did, his fate would probably have been very different. Keep in mind that the Marauders were Dumbledore’s golden boys and went straight into the Order, Severus wasn’t going to align himself with his abusers, so even without being in Slytherin, logically he wouldn’t have gone down that path if his bullies were there.
Here's why what James did was sexual assault and not pantsing.
Pantsing is usually defined as pulling down someone’s pants as a joke or prank. It’s immature, invasive, and often done for laughs. It's also quick and done and over with. That said, why is pantsing okay? Why is that the go to defense that pantsing somehow morally acceptable behavior. Maybe its okay thing to do among your friends, but to do to someone who you are not friends with, and who you mess with constantly...? In every other form of media pantsing is humiliating and degrading to the person, and that usually shown to be bad. So why it's used to justify James and Sirius here in have no fucking idea outside of people hate a character so they're cool with it. SO even if you DONT THINK ITS SA Pantsing is still wrong...
This means a lot to me to see. Very well done and well written. Severus exhibits such severe symptoms of a survivor of SA, and of course being male, it's laughed off.
Also i would still categorize "pantsing" as a type of assault at worst, and sexual harassment at best. Still really gross to do to someone. SWM is horrific on so many levels.

LOL strangled by my umbilical cord on the way out and had to be put in a special unit for a little while bc my temp dropped dangerously or something insane. Then had severe pneumonia that almost wiped me out when i was like 3 or 4 and had to have breathing treatments for years afterwards. I also have like a billion different allergies, including DUST. Yeah i would be a very adorable red-headed corpse very early on lmao
I'm so excited to see what you've got for Maiya, tbh I've been wanting to learn more abt her since I read your whole Snape Headcanon Post-war rant (yes I'm also the same anon from before mentioning abt Severitus) and I would love to know how and why she fell for Severus and whatnot (and since she's Huffflepuff too, I've always been a big fan of Slytherpuff dynamics 🥰)
Awww bless, thank you for the reading you've done! ;"D it means so much to have curious strangers!! I'm hoping to get her up by Monday, there's gonna be new arts with that as well!!! If not Monday then definitely sometime else early this coming week 🥰 i do hope you'll like her! Her and Sev's dynamic is one i think someone could easily roll their eyes at if they didn't look closely at her. She was so much cheaper when i came up with her as a teen 🤣
Looking forward to sharing her properly with the world!

THE AAAAAAAART
Hi baby does! What are you guys doing even at a tree
There’s something I think people really need to understand when discussing Snape and the Death Eaters, and it’s that a lot of the discourse around him is intellectually dishonest to a ridiculous degree.
First of all, I’m the first person to say that comparing the Death Eaters to Nazis is politically inaccurate and honestly kind of lazy. The structure of Voldemort’s movement is not equivalent to historical fascism in the classical sense. Fascist movements like Nazism relied on mass propaganda, populist rhetoric, appealing to the working class, mobilising huge portions of the population through nationalist discourse, fearmongering and social alienation. Voldemort does not do that. Voldemort recruits primarily through aristocratic blood supremacy networks and old-money elitism. It’s a cult-like supremacist inner circle, not a mass political party built around public mobilisation.
But even putting that aside entirely, what genuinely blows my mind is how people talk about Severus joining the Death Eaters as if he was some fully formed 35-year-old man with a stable support system, financial security and emotional maturity making calculated ideological decisions. He was seventeen. Seventeen. Poor. Isolated. Abused. Socially alienated. Raised in violence. Repeatedly humiliated. Surrounded by people who either enabled his abuse or directly participated in it. And the only group offering him protection, belonging, validation and power was a radicalised extremist circle. And people act shocked that he got recruited?
I’m sorry, but some of you desperately need to leave fandom spaces and interact with actual human beings. Because in the real world, vulnerable teenagers get radicalised all the time. Into cults. Into gangs. Into extremist politics. Into abusive religious groups. Into criminal organisations. That’s literally how recruitment works. You target vulnerable people who have unmet emotional needs and no stable support systems.
And what makes this discourse even more exhausting is how deeply classist it is. Because let’s be honest here: if Severus had been a rich traumatised aristocratic boy from a respected family, half of fandom would be writing 800k redemption arcs about his “complexity.” But because he’s poor, socially awkward, visibly traumatised and emotionally dysregulated, people reduce him to “evil incel nazi.” Which is funny coming from fandom spaces that constantly scream about mental health awareness, trauma, neurodivergence and social justice until the traumatised person is unpleasant, angry, difficult or comes from a background they subconsciously look down on.
Because here’s the thing people don’t like admitting: trauma victims are not always nice. They are not always soft. They are not always emotionally articulate. They are not always healthy. Sometimes they’re bitter. Defensive. Volatile. Socially maladjusted. Hypervigilant. Sometimes they lash out. Sometimes they become deeply unlikeable before they heal , if they ever heal at all.
And Severus never got the chance to heal.
Some of you genuinely talk about a heavily traumatised, abused teenager recruited into extremism the same way conservatives talk about poor kids getting recruited into gangs: with zero structural analysis, zero empathy and zero understanding of how human vulnerability actually functions.
And yes, people can change. This is another thing fandom spaces seem incapable of understanding. Human beings are not static moral caricatures. I’m nearly thirty. I have met people who left cults. People who left extremist political groups. People who escaped abusive ideologies. People who were raised in deeply reactionary environments and later completely changed as adults. That happens constantly in real life. But apparently fandom morality has become so puritanical and chronically online that some of you think a person should be permanently defined by the worst thing they were manipulated into at seventeen, even if the rest of their life is spent trying to atone for it.
And honestly? A lot of this discourse reeks of people who have never interacted meaningfully with anyone outside their own social bubble. Because if you actually work with vulnerable people, poor communities, abuse victims, former addicts, ex-prisoners, traumatised individuals or radicalisation survivors, your perspective becomes a lot less simplistic very quickly. But instead fandom spaces are full of people who claim to care about nuance, rehabilitation, trauma and systemic violence while simultaneously reducing a traumatised abuse victim to a one-dimensional moral failure because he wasn’t “nice enough” about his suffering.
At that point you’re not progressive. You’re just judgmental with prettier vocabulary.
