Playa Delfines is a Blue Flag beach where you can avoid Cancun crowds, in a peaceful corner of the Hotel Zone south of the Mayan Museum. It’s a long and wide public beach, with coarse white sand and strong waves and represents a very popular surf beach.

Playa Delfines is a welcome break from the crowded beaches and busy nightclubs Cancun has become popular for. Situated just outside the hotel zone at one of the highest points in the city, this peaceful stretch of sand offers stunning views and an ideal environment for a relaxing stroll, catching waves or just relaxing.

Playa Delfines is a peaceful beach and is the ideal spot for beach lovers of all kinds. The large, sandy shores of Playa Delfines are enormous and seem to stretch for miles. You won’t have any trouble finding a peaceful spot on this beach, even though it’s a popular destination.

Playa Delfines ('Dolphins Beach')🐬, also known as El Mirador ('The Lookout')🔭
An amazing place to enjoy the sea view in Cancun. ⚠ Note: Be cautious. As one of the quite few open-sea beaches, shark presence has been registered 🦈

My 3 favorite beaches in Cancun!
Langosta Beach
Only 5 km away. From the Hotel Zone is Playa Langosta, with very low and calm waters (with almost no waves), which makes it look similar to a very large pool, being possible to walk without problems deep inside the beach without needing to swim, which is ideal when traveling with very young children or who still can not swim.
Las Perlas Beach
This is one of the best beaches in Cancun to visit with children, which is a little more than 2 km from the Hotel Zone; it is a small beach, with games for the little ones of the house, public baths, calm waters and with little waves, parking and even, there is a place with books that can be read without any additional cost, only with the condition of taking care of them.
Tortugas Beach
Located about 6 km from the Hotel Zone, this beach has craft shops, restaurants and self-service, as well as public restrooms and parking.
It is usually a very quiet beach to visit with children, although it is not large. From here it is possible to go for a boat ride or even reach Isla Mujeres.
