DIREMANGIAREPROGETTARE

The Spazio MIL in Sesto San Giovanni will host on Thursday 25th the concluding event of the co-design workshop Dire Mangiare Progettare, where 10 classes from the schools of Caronno Pertusella and Lissone teamed up with 10 designers to reflect on nutrition, sustainability and interculturality through participatory design.

Among others, Brocca Malandrina by Silvia Cafora e Vorrei un ascensore che ci porte al mare by PlayArchitecture. Both projects derive from observing children’s behaviour during lunchtime. The first one is a pitcher with a simple low-tech mechanism that does not leak water in case of fall. Thus it solves one of the mistakes that often occur at lunch... The second one is an wall installation with three devices, a vertical flipper, a shredding stool and a magic aquarium. The three devices engage kids - especially the ones who finish before others - to transform waste after lunch playfully.

During the first three days of July 2016 in Ameno was held the arts festival Studi Aperti, that each year invites artists, architects, designers and writers to work on its territory in a multidisciplinary context. For the section dedicated to landscape architecture - Paesaggi Mirati curated by Elena Berti of DA-A Architetti, it was proposed for the second consecutive year the theme of "Social Utopia” - reflections on planning and creativity linked to civic engagement.

Projects were presented by ASA - Advanced School of Architecture, A4Adesign, Elisabetta Bianchessi, Es-arch Enrico Scaramellini, Studio Caravatti_Caravatti, Gianmaria Sforza, Ghigos, Liveinslums, Officina82, TAMassociati, Marco Ferreri, Lorenzo Consalez.

Sedersi a Magni is an initiative directed by Architetti Senza Frontiere Italia Onlus and Caritas di Ragusa, founded during the project Costruiamo Saperi. The project aims to start entrepreneurial and craft activities with migrants in the Sicilian land and to launch a line of handmade designer furniture, that can represent the “beauty of the diversities” and of Sicily itself.

In support of this initiative, PlayArchitecture will bring to Ameno the project of a “small furniture” conceived for the initial reception and with the license Creative Commons. From the concept of “small furniture” it will be possible to realize various models, that will be born from the hands of these new makers and which the Magni carpentry may reproduce and commercialize.
