Playing warhammer and trying to be kind to your friend for playing the army they like but you know its one of the worst armies in the game is like trying to take care of a child with no control of their limbs. Like im sorry I'm trying to help you stand but you keep tripping and I can't help but laugh when you bonk your head against the wall, but I'll still help you.

Had a bud come down from Uni but due to space they couldn't pack their army, so it was time to break out both demo armies for a romp.

Oh my god I never posted the photo

This was all gray plastic as of this time last week, with a few basecoated exceptions and one fully finished model, so all in all I'm very pleased with the hustle and relative quality of it.

30 Hearthkyn, 5 Hearthguard, 3 Brokhyr and a Kahl, representing the Sub-Ymyri Biomass Co-Op, a custom league with close ties to the Ymyr Conglomerate, at my local tournament.

Despite playing them wrong, I wiped my first two matches (vs. Guard and Custodes) with relative ease. My final match was my undoing, though, as I was up against a guard list with heavy anti-infantry artillery which simply mulched me with very unforgiving cover on my end. I only scored 9 points which caused my final score to plummet, sinking me in at #8 out of 20.

The list building grinds ever on. I like how votann play a lot, but it's really hard to make a good list at 1000 with arks rules as I can't effectively run both bikes and hearthguard or brokhyr. I'll think of something, though!

Days 14 and 15 I helped set up and am currently playing in a 1k tournament. Big evil family is finally together at last!

Game 2 was against a literal child, probably one of the sweetest people in the store to play with, but...

To be fair, this is pretty much what you'd expect to happen - only a little over average but not ridiculously so - but I feel like maybe giving an armywide good- to - great unmodifiable save on an army that's already very swarmy is not great

The tanks got tarpitted in Flesh Hounds, which was fine because it kept them off my objectives. Around round 3, I needed to pivot into scoring secondaries, so my number of shots went way down while I made up the points differential.

Watching Poor Hammer do meme lists and they did an Ork one where nearly every unit was given the keyword of ‘Hazardous’ which apparently means there’s a dice roll that can makes the Ork weapons better or worse. And there’s a possibility that you do so badly that your Ork’s guns straight up fucking explode

And suddenly I am tempted to play a fucking game now

Finished our first game about 2 hours early so now I'm in the store like Travolta

Handily won round 1 by randomly matching into my good buddy and long standing list testing dummy. They were not amused.

Round 1 had me deploy very aggressively, because their game plan was to deep strike in 2 bricks of melee monsters and Blood Angels me to death:

Their Ballistus failed to kill longstrike (the hammerhead on the right) and I summarily executed it for Impudence Crimes

At the end of 2, the bricks came in, with the terminators charging my ghostkeel and the death company failing to reach my normal hammerhead. Apparently I didn't take a photo, but my hammerheads liquefied the terminators, then got killed by the death company, who in turn got wiped by farsights brick:

And from there it was just "sit on points for a turn to win".

I really like tenth. It feels very quick when you know what you're doing and it's so refreshing to not have to track 50 stratagems per army.
