Benjamin hummed, a look of amusement twinkling across his bright eyes. "Well, given how Brewster is the one who 'miraculously' stumbled across this concoction, I'm going to say the chances are very high."
Hesitant, he lifted his cup and took a cautious sniff, only to draw back with a slightly pinched expression. That evening, the s.oldiers and camp followers alike were huddling together for warmth and light conversation. It wasn't exactly common (or rather, approved of) for the s.exes to mingle, but the people in camp had a way of getting around such requirements.
Taking a tentative sip, Benjamin pulled back and coughed, laughing softly. "It's official," he agreed. "Definitely spiked." Swirling the brew, if only to properly mix the a.lcohol, he added, "When I was a boy, we'd have this with cinnamon. Alas, we seem to be in short supply when it comes to the finer things in life. Well..." He flashed Thera a meaningful smile. "Almost everything."
