Do you think Dabi/Touya has a preference for which name his partner calls him?? Like, would he prefer Dabi with the PLF but Touya with them? Touya only in private? Or just fuck all and call him whatever the hell you want. Bob works.
ooooh i love this question so much!!! well, canonically we know he’ll answer to either; tomura calls him dabi on the battlefield after his reveal, but afo + toga call him touya-kun before that, and his family obv calls him touya as well. between those two names in particular, i don’t think he’d have much of a preference in the sense that he’d easily answer to both, however i have always had a personal headcanon that he loves hearing his birth name fall from your lips <3
mostly because touya is who he is at his core, you know? he cannot outrun his blood, and touya is why dabi exists at all (in the sense that if he wasn’t a todoroki obv none of this would’ve happened). he can dress himself up in new clothes and black hair dye and staples + piercings, but at the end of the day, underneath all of that, he is still touya. so it feels more personal, it feels more real. but again, that’s just my hc!
other than that, i actually think dabi loves being called ‘baby’, but only in private, and only by you, and only during select moments. he’s so damn prickly, especially at the start of your relationship, terrified to be vulnerable (putting up walls and pushing you away as a defence mechanism), but once he finally allows you to take care of him (after you have extensively proved that you’re not going to hurt him and you’re not going to leave) he finds that it’s kinda nice, to let those he loves tend to and dote on him—sometimes, anyway <3 it’s still often like pulling teeth to get him to give up that control and be raw with you
