Clarification: I have a tolerate/hate relationship with Blaze so I have no idea who she is beyond concept art. I go back and forth between the two and it’s not her fault; it’s mine. I get pretty possessive when it comes to fandoms I like and I prefer Dusty over any non-canon characters/unpublished characters and hate them not be present in any movies/unpublished movies.
This could be interpreted as humanized or non-humanized plot. I see Blaze as a wannabe plane that wants to be an exosphere plane/pilot in a program to create a plane that doesn’t go to the moon but rather creates a plane that can go to the exosphere, so closest to the moon as possible while still being considered a plane and not a rocket ship, (highest layer of earth) and to go back to earth, which would be ten times faster of transport and travel as well as creatigg by an opportunity to clear out the space junk closest to earth and repair satellites that have gone down.
this is where my powernap dream started: Blaze gets selected into this program/built to be used for the program and is a very cocky and immature kid that has great potential but is very distrustful of authority that isn’t ‘command’ which is a private horror that she witnessed herself at a very young age that she never told anyone about. She also doesn’t trust any ‘responsible’ or ‘obedient’ students/planes that try and tell her what to do as she hates being limited especially she has the tech that is top notch and she is very skilled in her chaos and doesn’t cause much issue except almost reveal the top secret program to civilians/planes.
this all changes when she meets a new crew of planes/people that are also candidates of the program. Blaze isn’t a huge competitor because her tech is the top; no one could possibly beat her. However she is excited to hopefully find like-minded people. Blaze meets two guys one gal (dream didn’t give them names) but Blaze clashes violently with one guy and is too wary to befriend guy number 2 because of guy number 1. However gal and Blaze got along very, very well albeit gal got molded to what Blaze wanted but it wasn’t blaze’s fault entirely; gal is a pushover and hides it well.
eventually gal and Blaze became so close that Blaze began to reveal her secret technology and that’s when gal got scared for Blaze but didn’t know how to tell her. Blaze’s technology is actually purely experimental technology; it wasn’t patented tech. Blaze was just the footstool; not the final product like what Blaze believed. They’re using Blaze’s wild personality to test all of their technology to push it to the next best thing to limited simulation.
blaze’s world crashed to the ground when a new girl came in and got the attention of ‘command’ in a matter of minutes that Blaze had scrambled and scraped for attention for her entire life. Blaze began to slowly spiral as her denial didn’t allow her to see that what her self image was wasn’t true at all. Blaze got angry and quickly snaps on the gal and pushed all support away (including elderly man from ‘command’ (actually just the command clerk not even in the command office) who humored and talked to Blaze.
Blaze went in a whirlwind of issues and psychosis when the months of her trying to vie for first place ended in futile attempts and the girl (who was a lying bully and Blaze found various proof through conversations and personal interactions that girl wasn’t fit in the head and actually knew nothing as a pilot and not even really trained for what it would be like out there. Blaze ran the simulations ten times more than anyone here and especially from gal) was moved to the final spot for the program to launch that month. Blaze realized that even her elder friend wasn’t actually ‘command’ and her entire psyche crashed. Everything she had realized was nothing. She was nothing.
Blaze actually got into ‘command’s office and ended up wrecking the media party for the launch by trying to warn the people that the girl wasn’t a good pilot and that she was better. Blaze actually had good points but her reputation made her not seen or heard. Blaze was laughed off the stage and Blaze felt dejected. Gal of Blaze and the two guys (who decided to join various other branches than being a pilot candidate for the program) gave her a pep talk (involving allowing Blaze to scream as loud as she could) and that Blaze eventually felt depressed and grumpy but she begrudgingly watched the launch on television.
true to Blaze’s warnings, the girl panicked and the plane lost radio contact with command. Damage reports that didn’t make sense came through as warnings to command. They needed a rescue pilot. The elderly man clerk recommended Blaze and showed the hours that Blaze clocked for the simulations; she was their best shot. Blaze, half awake and covered in…junk food, I think lol, (dream starts to get foggy) was put into the emergency program and she was sent up to the last coordinates. If this was humanized (as my dream was) Blaze saw that the girl’s plane was flying in random loops and nothing coherent and was dangerously close to losing Earth’s orbit and careening into space.
However, Blaze continued to press on and basically space walked to the plane. (Idk) and she found the girl inside hysterical and the girl personally was responsible for the damage inside the plane as the girl was ripping and tearing the plane in efforts to blame something else for the program not working instead of her panic. Blaze easily subdued the girl in an emergency harness and worked to fix the plane. Blaze then carefully landed in the destined place after taking a good look at the unfiltered view of the moon in space; the program was a success. Blaze also had a body cam as command provided her one and everyone saw live what Blaze was trying to communicate. Blaze was hailed a hero and the girl was taken care of by the law.
the dream ended with Blaze promoting her elderly man friend to the console of his choice (his dream) and worked on herself and everything ended with Blaze’s empty plane still floating in the space where she left it in order to bring the other plane down, moonlight blanketing the chrome just like Blaze’s toy ship on her childhood mobile back at her quarters looked like in the night.
idk; take this dream story how you will but it was too good to ignore. It was a pretty good scene to ‘witness’ when Blaze was outside the pre launch party crying her eyeballs out. Very emotional.
