Episode SP: A Mother's Love
Some time before Amethio's departure for Lumiose City, for the current situation...
The trees would be gently swaying around a solitary grave, the only signs of life being a Pawmi that would run across the grave on its way to collect food. Soon after, three pairs of footsteps could be heard approaching. After Spinel had contacted him, told him of what was going on in Lumiose City...Amethio had decided to take a small detour.
He'd wanted to visit this grave. For a moment, Zirc and Onia, who were accompanying him, seemed confused...Until he quietly explained that this was his mother's grave. It seemed well tended, meaning somebody was looking after it...Hamber, if he had to assume. But...After a bit of discussion, Amethio would step forward with a smile, looking down at the grave.
It...Had been a long time, hadn't it? He was just a young child when he'd been here for the funeral, after all. Too young to properly comprehend what had happened.
"... ... ...Hello, Mother. It's...Been a very long time since I've come to visit you. Hasn't it?"
Zirc and Onia, ever faithful, would stand a ways away. Giving Amethio privacy as he knelt down and gently brushed a gloved hand against the headstone. Maria...His mother. He'd never gotten to truly know her before her death...All he remembered was a woman who loved him, very much.
A woman who would probably have worried for him, knowing what he'd been through. So...After a moment of hesitation, Amethio would speak. Of his upbringing, of Ceruledge's evolution and his induction into the Explorers. Of the events that had led to his being disowned, of that day in Laqua...Of his year in isolation, and of how he had gained the strength to move forward once more thanks to a trusted friend and his subordinates.
He spoke of Zygarde, and how he had been chosen as Its Trainer. Of the journey he was now undertaking...And, of the friends he had made. Those he felt close to, those he wished to know better...And those who he desired to see again, so that they could share even deeper bonds. He spoke of the path he had chosen, of how Gibeon's obsession had become a curse that he intended to break - by shattering Spinel's ambitions.
...And, he spoke of how he had inherited Gibeon's dream of a world where the dreams of both people and Pokémon were supported. A dream he'd chosen to bear of his own will. Finally...He'd exhausted everything that he'd wanted to say, instead standing up and turning to both Zirc and Onia.
"...Let's go. Lumiose City is waiting, you two."
There was an immediate affirmation of "Yes, sir!" from the two as they sent out their Flying Pokémon, with Amethio mounting Corviknight alongside the two and their Skarmory. As the three took off...They would fail to notice a translucent woman, watching the Corviknight as it took the lead.
He'd gotten so tall, since the last time she saw him. The memory of him as a tiny child, curious about the world, was still fresh in her mind. But...Even so, the woman still cheered him on. It was all that she could do, after being dead for so long.
"...When did you grow so big, my little one? I'm so proud of you..."
She was gone with the rustle of the leaves, however...With Amethio's group none the wiser as they flew northeast towards Lumiose City to stop Spinel's plans. None aware that for a moment...A mother had seen her child off, one last time before departing to the afterlife to be with her father.
