Chicago
It makes me really mad that another killing has happened. An injustice one with no argument to defend it. Van Dyke was in the wrong 100% but now because of this one idiot every Chicago cop is made to look like the bad guy. People are flooding into our city because they live off the havoc. People are here to make a statement, express their frustrations, and to make a change. I commend these people. However, I do not condone those who are opportunistic, and are thriving off the chaos. Why do you believe vandalism, ripping down Christmas lights and what not is going to give you validity? It frustrates me to see my city being vandalized and thrown into chaos because of some protesters taking out their frustrations in the wrong way. Protest peaceful, stand together: that's how you will make a statement; not from a mob ripping down a Christmas tree meant to bring our city joy in a time that we all need it the most.
I don’t see how people think that violence will solve their problem, when the problem was caused by violence.
Mollie Ray (one thing I feel proud of saying, my thoughts on peaceful protest)
