Outside of urgent situations that are a matter of life and death (and even then, he apologized afterwards) Din has never yelled at you. Sure, you've had some disagreements on occasion, but they're always talked through as calmly as possible - neither of you can imagine raising your voices at each other outside of a "oh kriff, someone's chasing us, we need to run" situation.
Din will never like to raise his voice at you. He knows how terrifying it can be. He knows how loud voices have been used against you too much in the past. He knows that you mean too much to him for you to think for even just a second that he cares less than he actually does.
If he’s angry with you, he still won’t yell. He’ll take his space. If anything, he gets more silent. He refuses to make you an emotional punching bag. You’ve had to go through enough—he’s not going to put you through more. You mean everything to him, and the thought of you thinking anything less? It makes him sick.
That’s why he’s so quick to apologize after those life-or-death situations, after he’s snatched your hand and yelled “Go!” in such a curt tone that it could practically be heard from right under his helmet. He’s got you in his arms and he’s holding you so tight to him, his helmet beside your ear as he repeats over and over “I’m sorry I yelled, cyar’ika—I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to frighten you.”
You never mind, but the comfort of his words after the fact never fails to make you even more safe than the way he’d protected you just moments before.
