Hands shaking, breath ragged, eyes filled with tears. Nothing could describe the feeling she felt at this moment, this moment in time, the 15th time she had seen their faces, screaming out for her to help them, screaming out for her to run and save her self. But she stayed, and watched, watched with unblinking eyes as the creature killed them. The creature was absolute darkness through and through. It would hide in the shadows and watch them as they planned their escape from the this accursed place. This place if death and sorrow, she had watched her friends lose their minds from the anxiety, the fear, of being caught by the monstrous creature and killed by it. She had convinced herself she could save them this time, she did so every time, every time she reset time, every time she had saved at least one of them but each time they would die a different death, tell her a different secret, a different regret, a different confession of love for another person they never got to tell. And each time she would watch the hope, the life, their soul, escape from their eyes as she held them, saw them, heard them, slip away into the darkness. And each time she would reset, only she would remember what had had happened to them. Or so she thought.
