Please help my trans friend afford the help they need
My friend Magdeline is a South African trans person in need of your help! Recently, they have received immediate medical care in an emergency room for an attempted suicide. They are about to be discharged within the next day or two and transferred to an inpatient facility for specialised psychiatric care.
They are homeless and are currently incomeless so they are in urgent need of a survival fund for:
• Inpatient care at a psychiatric facility
• Medication
• Short term accommodation and living expenses
This is an urgent need for funds because when Magdeline is discharged from the public hospital they have no space to stay while they await an opening at a psychiatric facility.
Please contribute whatever amount you can, big or small so we can get the care that Magdeline so desperately needs.
If you are aware of any Cape Town based psychologists and psychiatrists willing and able to provide discounted or probono work, please send their details our way.
Please share this campaign widely on every platform!
We are two trans people running this GoFundMe to raise funds for our friend and loved one Magdeline. All proceeds will go directly to them.
@Regranned from @barbaram933 - THIS ADDS INFO TO THE FIRE POST JUST BEFORE THIS. PLEASE HELP! PAYPAL IS IN THE PICTURE ABOVE. repost from @shelter_friend_ukraine #ugolyok News from Ugoleok shelter, a repost from Asta Kvitnitskaya's FB page. You can check out more news in account @shelter_ugoleok 👆, Alexandra is already in touch on Instagram "Good morning! I want to thank everyone who helps us again!🙏 You didn't leave us alone in trouble... so many people responded to our call for help, so many journalists and TV channels had a wish to give us a hand! Thank you so much!🙏 It empowers us and helps us not to pay attention to those people who hate us and who call me and Sasha swindlers even in such a terrible situation) I am not surprised, it's common practice) Thank you so much to everyone who wants to help with clothes and other necessities.🙏 Unfortunately, Sasha can't tear herself apart into 1000 pieces, so she is totally engaged in relocating animals at the moment. She will think about herself and her family a bit later... And I want to say one more time that the name of the shelter started from its first kitten whose name was Ugoleok and even if you drew an analogy with fire (because Ugoleok means Ember), please, try to understand that it's not the best time for Sasha to change the name now. She will do it later if she wants. But now she doesn't have where to live and she is thinking about saving animals. So, please, don't ask about the name now. Thank you so much to everyone who helps us!🙏 Sasha and I are intensely grateful to all of you!🙏" 🐾🐾🐾 #ugolyok #pleasehelpthem #fire #pawitforward #ukraine - #regrann
@Regranned from @barbaram933 - UNBELIEVABLE, THESE PEOPLE, THIS SHELTER JUST LOST ALL THEIR HOUSE AND SOME OF THE ANIMAL WHO WERE TRAPPED IN THE FIRE. PLEASE HELP THEM. PAYPAL IS [email protected] repost from @shelter_ugoleok The most terrible thing happened. Lviv shelter burned down. I am still affraid to write about everything that happened. I do not believed it happened. I feel as if all my life is over. If only building burnt down I would not feel that I know we will restore everything, but animals died. We could not rescue 18 cats. Only 5 are rescued. 3 puppies also passed away. I feel as if i failed them. We were in burning house rescuing all we could. No words will ever express the pain we are in. In 6 o'clock in the morning neighbours were hammering into our door. Crying to get out cause house is burning down. I did not believed it and ran out. I saw all second floor on fire. My husband ran to second floor opening all doors so all animals could run out. He wanted to go to room were cats were but it was so much on fire that it was impossible. But he hoped that someone may go out. Then we took out rest of dogs and cats that we saw in the house outside. Few dogs did not want to come out so we carried them out. Some were running inside again in panic. Then fire went to first stable where some cows, pig and goats were. We all took outside. The oldest cow Satva barely walks so we almost carried her out. All disappeared within an hour... #pleasehelpthem #animalsneedshelter #fire #pawitforward #ukraine - #regrann
PSA FOR SHY KIDS AND TEACHERS
I think something a lot of teachers don't realize when they call on their students who don't really speak in class (ex. Shy or have anxiety ect.) is that if they keep pressing them to answer, it doesn't necessarily make them pay any more attention in class... In fact, it just makes them more nervous for the next time you call on them and what might happen if you do, thus distracting them from the lesson. And then there's the dreaded situation where a student may not know the answer, or not be able to understand/ hear the question, and they are too shy to ask for clarification. So please, if a student doesn't immediately know the answer, please don't shame them or their answers.
