I had a dream the plebishite finally came around and it was 36 pages and you had to fill out every little square and there was so.many and I was SO ANGRY because nobody was going to do that. And the rest of my dream was just me running down the street yelling and swearing

Negative/vent opinions about the marriage equality postal survey result under the cut

I mean it's nice that the yes vote won but also, the survey didn't tell us anything we didn't know already and as a trans person I feel like both sides were throwing us under the bus from the beginning.

Most of the scare campaigns from the no side were focussed on trans people and how we can't have 'radical gender education' in schools. I can't help but feel like a lot of the people who voted no did that because they hate trans people, not because they hate gay people.

I mean I am really happy the yes vote won don't get me wrong!! Its a great step forward!! I'm just also really tired and it makes me feel like shit that me and my partner still couldn't get married as husband and wife the right way round even if the bill goes through without spending thousands on surgery to change our birth certificates.

Someone on tv earlier said that this is the end of the fight for equality for lgbtia+ people and I hate that people believe that shit.
