I decided while playing Minecraft that the Guardians should play it too.
I like to think that Peter somehow found out about the game, maybe by an off visit to earth, and decided it might be different than the board games or card games that always seem to go wrong.
The rest of the Guardians were, understandably, hesitant or uninterested. Groot was the only one that was willing to try in the beginning, thinking that it could also be a different way to spend time bonding as a team. Gamora was hesitant, as usually fun wasn’t something she could engage in, being raised by Thanos and all. Drax didn’t see the point of playing an adventure game when all they do is adventure anyway. Rocket was uninterested at first, not willing to waste his precious time on a silly video game.
Though, with some convincing, they all got on together and decided to play.
