PR: is a love-hate relationship
Everything in this life is relative. There's no white without black; there's no hot without cold; there's no happiness without sadness; there's no love without hate. Public Relations being the personification of this self destructive and self contradictory life philosophy of relativity, which in a nutshell translates into a love-hate relationship. Same as in any relationship where you feel your boyfriend gives you as much drama as he gives you joy. My job is that boyfriend and on Thursday night he rocked my world! One of my colleague / friend and I went to 'Premio Lo Nuestro' at the American Airlines Arena - in case you're not familiar with this lavish award show for the US Hispanic masses, just think of it as the convergence of the most popular / talented / attractive artists wherein they perform and grab some drinks at the lounge. Just to name a few: Olga Tanon, David Bisbal, Alejandro Sanz, Pitbull, Juan Luis Guerra, Carlos Vives, the Hispanic version of Justin Bieber whatever his name is (jk).
Although we were working the media at this activation for a client, we managed to have an amazing time. It is truly one of those moments in which all the stress that you experience at work pay off. It gives you self-realization like the first time you kiss someone you love. It leaves a sweet taste in your lips, which stems from the fruition of completing a project and the fruity magenta signature concoction that were distributed throughout the party. The bottomline is: so as long as it is worth the struggle you have to keep fighting for it. Although I may have conflicted feelings over my profession, I do enjoy the vast majority. And same as in any other relationship. It's going to get bumpy every once in a while but that's natural. The core of life is balance & equilibrium. It's about adapting to any situation and being able to find a stability in which you can rely. Like Darwin once said: "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change." Along with adaption life gives you adversity. And though you may hate it most of the times it only makes you stronger. It makes you more appreciative of the good times you spend with those you care about whether it: be colleagues, friends, strangers. Cherish those sweet moments and let go of the negativity. Life is too short and too bittersweet. XO, Tats See more pics on my #instagram profile @tati_jo #PLN25
Backstage: Premio Lo Nuestro
