“Lost in Hell,-Persephone, Take her head upon your knee; Say to her, "My dear, my dear, It is not so dreadful here.”
The Eleusinian Mysteries have been studied throughout the centuries. Whispered, painted on votive plaques hidden beneath rock and dirt of crumbled ancient cities. The cult of Persephone has been waiting for their chance to strike, and the mass gathering of supernatural creatures within Corinth Bay became their moment.
Hektor Soteira, the original vampire created by Persephone, has been called to Corinthia to start a chain of events. The storm hid his signature, and he began his plan from the minute the first building collapsed. Persephone’s storm had served its purpose, and as the earthquakes ceased, the rain remained consistent. Lightning had struck certain buildings, catching them on fire, creating refuge that would house most of the city’s inhabitants for the time being. At least until the flooding would go down, and the rubble put out.
The leader of the cult, however, had his own goals. He found those who had pledged their lives to the cult, Markus Camlann, Antony Lotson, and Ares Chevalier, and told them what they had to do. Persephone needed sacrifices – and they would bring them to him. He would seek out the rest of the vampires inhabiting Corinth Bay as well, and under his compulsion, they brought a victim, or perhaps two, to the Delphi hotel. Then, they were told to keep this to themselves, and go about their way. Hektor? Well, he dragged the alpha of the Argos Pack herself, Katerina, to the halls of Delphi.
The rifts were called to the Temple of Apollo, where they were finally faced with all those who had exited the tear in the veil. After all, they all have different views, and the gods and goddesses promised them that now was not their time to strike. Let the cult kill itself.
The Delphi Hotel:
Underneath the hotel, chosen by Markus for its magical strength, are caves that were carved into the cliffside of the higher parts of the city. They have been around for centuries, though no one knows how they came to be. Hidden by illusion, most likely from a band of kobaloi from centuries prior, the magic remains strong. The creatures that have been summoned here have been shoved into a single cave, iron bars spread across it. Persephone’s effect has rendered them powerless, as human as they could possibly be. Those who are unable to be changed into vampires have had most of their blood taken, rendering them weak, while others have ingested enough vampire blood to feel sick and begin to hallucinate.
