You were dreaming.
You realized it must be a dream.
But the fox turns his gaze on you. And you want to walk forward, but your feet are stuck.
You know if you go to him, all will be ok.
But your hand burns, and you look down to see the wedding ring.
Your hand glows purple, and you realize you are in danger. The fox is speaking to you now but you can’t hear it.
You wake up from the dream, and Agatha and Rio are in front of you.
“There she is!” Rio shouts.
“Bunny breathe baby! Deep breaths.” Agatha says and you turn to see the window shattered again and you set fire to the end of the bed. Rio must have put it out because it’s only embers now.
“What happened?” You gasp and you are covered in sweat.
“You left.” Rio said, and her fingers went to your wrist to check your pulse.
“Left?”
“We couldn’t feel you. And we tried to break into your dream, and we couldn’t. “Agatha explained, and she pushed the wet hair sticking to your forehead out of your face.
“Something bads coming.” Your voice is so scared.
“What is it?” Agatha’s face looks protective and scared even in the dark was of the night.
“Someone’s here Ag.” Rio says, and she’s listening now. You feel your cold sweat sticking to your body.
Your dog howls long into the night, and the three of you get out of bed and run down the stairs.
Rio throws open the door, and the dust picks up. She’s standing in a large sleep shirt and boxers. But her shoulders fall once she feels their magic.
“I suppose we have company,” Rio says, slightly annoyed. But Agatha looks out the door and then grabs your face. Wanting to steal this moment before chaos breaks.
“What did you see, Bun?”
You shake your head because you aren’t sure, and you don’t know what to say.
“I can’t.” You whisper and bite your lip. Agatha kisses your wet forehead and holds both sides of your face.
“Can you show Mommy? Let me see? I need to know how to protect you love.” Agatha tries to keep her voice steady, but you know better.
Her fingers start to glow, and you pull away.
“Please don’t.” You shut her down.
Agatha is at a loss, and she looks like you just burned her.
“Bunny?” She asks, but you are interrupted as Lilia storms into the house and grabs you.
Both her hands squeeze your wrists tightly.
“Easy with the grabbing fortune teller!” Rio snaps, but Lilia ignores her.
“Seven of Swords and Hangman.” She tells you and fear shoots through your body.
Lilia is in her pajamas and Alice and Jen both come into the house looking equally disheveled in the middle of the night.
“Calderu, stop it now. Hands off!” Agatha snaps, but everyone is staring at you and you look into Lilia’s eyes now.
“What is it? What did you miss, kiddo? I keep seeing it for you. What does it mean? I saw blood and ruin. But we have time to fix it. But I can’t help you if you don’t tell me.” Lilia says with more seriousness than you’d ever seen.
“Lilia I can’t-“ You are so afraid.
“You know divinations kiddo, focus. I couldn’t save them, let me help now. Please, let this all be for a reason. Let me help you.” Lilia begs, and you don’t mean to see her past in your mind. But she’s practically projecting her past coven's demise.
“Last warning magic eight ball, step away or be taken away.” Rio growls, and Agatha grabs her wifes hand. The two of them look ready to lunge.
Lilia ignores them, her grip so tense on you, she doesn’t let you go and you want this to be a dream.
“'mpiccatu”
She whispers it like it’s a secret.
It’s Lilia’s native tongue, she’s saying hangman. And you close your eyes and try to focus.
“setti di spadi,” you speak the language back to her, and her eyebrows lift. As if you are making progress.
But just as you are about to say more, your wolf howls loudly and upset. Rio is the first to stalk across the house and toss open the back door.
You all follow, but Agatha grabs your waist and pulls you behind her. So she can body block you.
Alice seems to have learned from last time. She’s brought a police issued handgun and she’s pulls it out and aims it into the forest.
“When did you fucking grab that!” Jen snaps, and Alice doesn’t look away, her stance ready like an ex cop. Because she wouldn’t be unable to protect her coven a second time.
“While you were arguing about who was going to drive. And Lilia was repeating Hangman and Seven of Swords over and over again.” Alice says, but she flanks Rios right, and Rio doesn’t need a weapon. She is the weapon.
You grab onto Agatha’s hips, and she’s scanning the dark.
“Bunn,y tell me. Trust Mama.”
You lean in behind her ear and whisper.
“I missed something. Something big. I messed up somewhere…I don’t know what I missed.” You whisper to her and one of her hands falls otop of yours on her hip.
“Stop, focus, you will find it.”
“I’m not the witch, I was Aggie. You were gone for years. I fucked up. I put us in danger and I don’t know how. It wants me just me-”
“Stop that, you are a witch. You are a Harkness. You are mine. You are more powerful than anything out there.” Agatha fucking means it and you hear her mind. She’s fucking seriuos.
You laugh self deprecating and something snaps in the woods.
Flash backs of a dead wolf and a fight from not long ago in this backyard resonate with you.
“The wards, the runes! YOU ARE NOT WELCOME! THIS HOME IS PROTECTED BY WITCHES. COME FORWARD! REVEAL YOURSELF OR FACE A FULL COVEN! Lilia shouted into the forest.
“You don’t know that, we don’t know what it is.” You tell your Mommy.
“I do know. I know who you are.” Agatha argued and tightened her hold on your hand. You were panting now as you tried to focus. “You are my familiar. You are my wife. Nothing can stop us.” Agatha whispered over her shoulder to you.
“Mommy, I’m scared I put us in danger.” You try not to make your fear over heard by the rest of the coven. Not wanting to feel this way now.
Rio materializes her dagger. She stalks forward in the dark, ready to head off the attacks
You fear that if she intervenes again, your bathtub problem would be nothing. Rio was no longer immortal to you.
“Focus, my love, you are a witch. Be a witch. Everything you need you have.” Agatha told you and you heard another twig snap to the left.
Everyone pivoted their bodies towards it. Like you were a pack of lions.
This was your home. This was your pride.
This was your coven.
You closed your eyes now and focused.
“Good girl.” Agatha whispered and you felt her fingers glow with purple.
Your wolf howled into the night and this time he cried out in pain.
And you sprinted into the dark.
“BUNNY NO!” Agatha tried to catch you but you evaded her.
“GET BACK HERE!” Rio screamed, but your barefeet took you fa,r fast.
You found the world in the wood covered in dirt his hackles up, body bent, ready to attack.
Across from him was the fox
“No stop, it’s ok he’s ok.” You say and step forward, and the fox does the same only this time.
Your sweet boy lunges to protect you and bites the creature.
And magic snaps in the air.
You fly backwards and the wolf cries in pain again.
Your body is thrown against a tree and you fall to the forest floor with a thud.
The foxes eyes glow now.
Not so friendly.
“Seven of Swords.” You whisper to the thing, and it goes to lunge for you. But your wolf is faster. The two roll on the floor and then down the hill. You try to stand to go after it. When two arms wrap around your waist.
“LET ME GO!” You scream and elbow the person.
“No! Stop it it’s me!” Rios' voice cracks as you throw yourself out of her grip, but she’s stronger.
“LET ME GO! I CAN SAVE HIM!”
“NO!” Rios' voice boom,s and you sag against her. Agatha finally comes to Rio's aid, and she throws her arms around both of you. Putting her head against Rios.
The rest of the coven catches up.
“Where did he go? The wolf where’d he go?” Jen asks the obvious question. Lilia is staring at you three with sadness.
“He’s gone,” Alice whispers, and you turn into Rios's neck and you are too angry for tears.
“We have to go back. We are sitting ducks out here. Past all the protection spells.” Alice says, and Rio picks you up and you hide in her neck as she walks you back to the house. When you all pile into the living room. Rio sits on the sofa, and you stay in her arms, hiding.
Agatha paces in the middle of the floor and Rio watches her as the coven speaks over each other around the room.
“So the fox..it’s been telepathically connecting with her this whole time? And we are just now talking about this!” Jen snaps, and Alice answers.
“It stopped visiting her in the backyard because of the protection spells.”
“That wasn’t a red flag?” Jen says sarcastically.
“It helped guide Rio and I in the woods.” Lilia counters, as if defending you.
“How do we know it didn’t want you to bring that wolf back to life? Maybe it wanted to know if she could do the spell for necromancy! Maybe this is what it wants!”
“You are missing the point!” Lilia raised her voice at Jen, and that made her stop her rant.
Agatha didn’t stop pacing. Her mind eighteen steps ahead of the rest.
“You are asking all the wrong questions. Both of you stop! This coven has battled bigger beasts and over come much more! Stop acting like this is your first lesson. Witch the fuck up!” Lilia means it and Alice gulps.
The room is quiet for a second, minus the sound of Agatha barefeet brushing against the wood, she’s like a pendulum, moving, shifting, unyielding. Lilia speaks to your wife now.
“Tell them, tell them, Agatha. Tell them what it is.” Lilia insists, and the three witches turn to Aggie.
You grip Rio in fear, and you three share thoughts, share the scary truth. Rio’s hold of you is so tight your body hurts, but she doesn’t release you, and you don’t say a thing.
You wonder if her hold on you is from fear or protection. Like if Rio holds you tight, no one can take you away. No one can hurt you if Daddy has you in her arms.
You hear Agatha and Rio speaking through the connection, but you just can’t focus. Your mind is blank and all you feel is fear.
Agatha’s words break through to you, but she’s speaking to the coven.
“The fox…she’s one of the Salem Seven.”
“What!” Jen screeched.
“I thought Lilia killed them on the road.” Alice tries to catch up.
“It appears not all of them.” Lilia’s voice is void of emotions.
You don’t move an inch. You can hear the coven thinking, and it’s overwhelming and you just want to go to bed.
‘I’ll take you to bed, you say the word and we go upstairs.’ Rios' voice rings in your mind. But you take a deep breath and let go of her. Rio doesn’t do the same.
‘I’m a witch. I don’t run away from trouble. I am trouble.’ You tell your wives, and Rio loosens her hold and you climb off of her and turn to the coven. Agatha stops pacing now.
“Seven of Wands,” you start and turn to Lilia, who seemed to find the resilience she needs in your words. “Deception and dishonesty, sneaky or secretive. I found the fox. I trusted it. I didn’t look into its mind. It gave freely and I didn’t ask. That was my mistake as someone in the craft. Someone who’s watched witches fall for less.” You say to Lilia who’s showing such pride in you, and then turn to Alice.
“The fox guided you where it wanted. She’s the puppet master pulling strings. I knew her. I was there after Agatha killed the coven. I was the one who spared them. I told you that day we were outside. It was my fault. And I knew the fox, she was….she was someone I knew a long time ago. And she didn’t want me to trust Agatha. She was into…divination.” You state, and Aggie's fists clench as she watches you. She remembers too.
“So like an ex?” Jen asks, adding her sas,s and you scoff.
You wondered if they now understood why Agatha didn’t like divination. You ignore the question but look at Jen as if it’s important she pay attention.
“The Salem seven were a hive mind like you saw on the road. But just because she doesn’t have the rest of her hive… her coven, it doesn’t make her less dangerous. She must have found the magic wielder for S.H.I.E.L.D. She’s pulling the strings. But who knows if that is even what she wants….”
“So what do we do?” Alice asked, and Lilia looked at Rio now.
You wait a beat, before your mind disagrees with Agatha.
“Nothing. You do nothing. You go home.” You sternly state, and Jen rolls her eyes.
“Fuck that.” Alice speaks first.
“I second that.” Jen raises her hand like they’re taking a vote and then drops it when you speak back with intensity she wasn’t expecting.
“This isn’t your fight. There are rules to a witch fight. And you don’t need this blood on your hands.” You look at Lilia now, but she smiles at you like she does to Billy when he’s being young and foolish.
“Blessing and burdens Babydoll. ”
You see her for the wise crone of the house of witches she is.
“We are a shitty dysfunctional coven. And they mess with you, they mess with us. Besides, you think they’ll leave us alone! They know we are on your side.” Jen argues, and you don’t like her point. Safety in numbers….
“We fight together. Or not at all, you move we move.” Alice agrees, but she looks at Jen like it’s a declaration of love, and they share gooey looks.
“Lilia,” you start, and she eyes you like she’s ready to argue with you more. “You can’t, you have to go to Billy.” You say, and she nods like you are a good divination witch. Like her high priestess was teaching her so she could pass something to you in return. You figured that was what witchcraft really was. One voice to pass down, to empower another.
“What why?” Jen disagrees,” We need all the help we can get breaking into a government facility!” You saw how much faith she had in Lilia. How little faith she still held for Agatha and Rio. But this strange allegiance she wanted to form with you. It was confusing and made your head hurt.
“No, Billy needs protection. We think of this like war, because that is what a witch fight is” Agatha agrees, and you look at your wife now. “Witches fighting…Nothing is off the table. No child is safe, no place is sacred. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, blood and bone is our currency now.”
You see Jen shiver at that idea, but Alice looks more determined.
You wonder when Rio would enter this, and it seems Agatha’s thinking the same. Because when her eyes fall to your wife. Rio can’t contain her upset, can’t wait until you three are alone to discuss it.
“Agatha forget it, you are insane!” Rio whispers dangerously in the room.
“Can you guys argue out loud so we can understand it too,” Alice asks, and you turn to Rio with sad, big eyes. She stands from the sofa and walks towards Agatha, shaking her head. Her stance looks like she wants to take out her dagger and cut Agatha’s neck again. Like another round in the living room sounds good to her now.
“You can’t.” You agree with Agatha, and Rio is fuming right away. But you speaking seems to remind her that physical violence won’t solve this. Her fingers twitch and you feel her powers under the surface. Rio wasn’t used to fear.
“Fuck you.” Rio snaps at Agatha, but your witch doesn’t back down. A beautiful and agonizingly annoying quality for Aggie really. She’d defend her wives to the end, even from their own bullshit. And she was usually right, and her strength was unmovable.
“Stay out of this Baby girl.” Rio instructs but you know Agatha is going to win already.
“Holy shit, two wives against one. This is some scary shit.” Jen says out of the side of her mouth to Lilia. Who is ignoring the potions witch. Watching the battle begin.
“You stay. That’s the only way this works.” Agatha’s voice is level, which only makes Rio madder.
“No fucking way. You take our baby into a witch fight, and what do I do? Put my thumbs up my ass and wait? You want me to make dinner and wait for you, dear? You are out of your mind if you think I’m staying here. Let you go out and get hurt! What year is this in our marriage?”
Agatha smiled that same sad look she’d given Rio on the road before hugging her close.
“You have to trust me. Trust me to keep our girl safe, like you know I will. Like I always have. Trust her to be the amazing witch she is, the stunning power house we taught her to be. You can’t intervene again, and we both know it. You can’t break the rules my bad boy.”
Rio’s face turns red in frustration. She’d cry if she could, you know she would.
“I don’t care about the punishment! Fuck the punishment I want the soul! I want to slice his throat open!” Rio yells, not caring that there is an audience who is scared and shocked at Rio and Agatha’s argument.
You don’t speak, knowing that the adults are kinda talking right now. While they saw you as their equal, you knew if you spoke again, Rio would make the emotional call, and Agatha was the only shot at convincing Rio of logic.
But that always took a minute when it came to them disagreeing.
“We do care though. We care, my love. What if this time it’s not punishment? What if we can’t bring you back with tobacco in a bathtub? You can’t leave us, not like that. You have promises to fulfill. You have obligations for us.” Agatha’s eyes are kind, and she reaches out and cups Rio’s face.
Rio doesn’t move away, but her mouth is twisted in pain. In internal anguish, ready to run her mouth dry until she gets her way. But her voice drops low and dangerous.
“Who am I, if not your protector? I am the scary monster! What kind of wife, what kind of Daddy would I be?” Rio’s furious, and you feel bad for her, but you and Agatha won’t budge either.
“The one who will lick our babies' wounds the second we come home.” Agatha tries to soothe, only for Rio to make a noise to call out the absurdity of it.
You look up the stairs, and wonder if you can get up there with Rio reading your mind. You hope she’s distracted.
“I can’t. I won’t. You-” Rio stops herself from saying something mean, but Agatha and you hear it all the same. But Agatha doesn’t dwell on her harsh words from fear.
“You must. If you intervene, the fates will not be as kind as they were last time.” Agatha’s hand gently trails down Rio’s strong arm down to her first scar, the burn Rio’s wearing from her punishment. For reading the stupid spirit board a second time for her wives. For intervening in the affairs of those who walk the earth. Her punishment for loving you. For protecting you and Agatha. You eye the abused flesh, the only scar on Rio’s perfect body.
Almost left to mock her, that Death could have such a fatal flaw, to appear to have a mortal wound. It was cruel, but so was Death falling in love with someone who wouldn’t live forever. As you and Agatha were bound witches, and would die on the same day at the same moment. Rio would lose everything in the blink of an eye.
How cruel it was.
“I’d undergo an eternity of pain, if it means we keep her safe. Keeping you both safe! You know that, you can’t ask me to stand by! What if-” Rio licks her lips and turns and looks at all of the coven. But her eyes fall on you and she is pleading now. You don’t move, clearing your thoughts.
Asking you to come to her aid, to tell Mommy she’s wrong.
You three didn’t really do sides necessarily, only in teasing. You could count on one hand the times one of them asked you to do this, to pick one of them. To disagree with your other wife.
And now you had to add one more to the tally, only Agatha didn’t have to reach out and look at you. She knew your answer, just as Rio did before she asked.
You shake your head once. You won’t allow Rio to come. There are some journeys where someone you love must sit out, and this was the one for Rio.
“Two against one.” Jen whispers, in astonishment and Alice glares at her to ‘shut up.’
“What if they separate you two, What if they take her? Agatha, you need me, these witches can’t protect her and…Our family is too important! You know…” Rio snarls and she walks away from Agathas touch and she’s furious.
You turn to look at Lilia who is staring at you, waiting for you.
“Hangman.” You whisper and she nods once, fuck.
You run up the stairs and Rio shouts for you but you kick open Agatha’s magic room and find the black book. The book that kept Rio alive. You barricade the door with magic and hope Agatha won’t intervene.
Hope she can kep Rio downstairs.
You flip open the book with your magic and channel your mind.
You were about to banish Death.
First step of Hangman.
You reach to find a straight razor on the table.
You hear Rio in your mind, begging, pleading you to stop. You don’t hear Agatha, but you know she’s using her power to stop Rio from running upstairs.
You feel terrible. You three always did things together, but not this time.
You slice your hand open and then wince.
“Death be gone from this house, go back to your realm my love. Be gone from this coven, go home my love. Go away and stay away, go away my love. “ You whimpered and felt Rio’s heart shatter as you said it. But you drew a rune in your blood on the floor.
Your wedding ring sparkled in the light and you felt guilty.
"Abeat mors ex hac domo, redi ad regnum tuum, amor meus. Abiat ex hoc coetu, redi domum, amor meus. Abi et abstine, abiat amor meus."
You repeat the banishment in latin and you feel Rio leave your realm.
You scream like it’s cutting your soul in half.
Your hand bleeds and you sob feeling her go, feeling her feel deceived by you and Agatha.
The door is opened and Agatha is on the floor and pulls you into her lap. You both let tears fall. It felt like adultery, it was deceiving the person who loved you both.
When you were done crying you could feel Rio trying so hard to come back, but unable to.
“She’ll forgive us.” Agatha tried, but you both felt the lack of conviction.
“We kill them, we kill them all. Whatever it takes. No survivors.” You sniffle and wipe your tears on the back of your hand. You meant it.
“No survivors.” Agatha agreed with you and you looked at the book like it was the worst thing in the world.
“And I never want to see that again.” You say to your Aggie. She follows your gaze to the book. You were never one to be upset with knowledge, but since bringing that thing into your home. It had been a world of problems.
“I’ll hide it.” She says her arms tightening around your body, you nod against her.
You don’t have much to pack.
There’s no time to brew anything, no time to do much of jack shit. You get into the truck and drive. Lilia takes the other car and goes to Billy.
Jen and Alice fall asleep pretty quickly as it was still night time and you’d already had a long night. Alice offered to drive but you’d told her, no. You needed something to do.
You keep your mind blank and Agatha is poking around. But you try so hard not to let her in. You try hard not to listen to Rio begging to come back. You try to stay empty. But Agatha is relentless.
“Keep trying to read my mind and you’ll get a nose bleed.”
“Stealing my lines now.” Agatha tries to joke but you just keep your hands on the wheel. There are no lights out, you are driving to a secret facility, and you aren’t on main roads.
You don’t use your magic to feel the animals around. You just drive. You don’t think, you just drive.
“What are you looking for?”
“I think you know. And as mine, you know I can poke around.”
“You couldn’t earlier.” You say and you feel Agatha’s hurt.
“Don’t do this, don’t pull away from me. Not…not before we go in there. Please…After Rio and…I need you Bunny. You are…everything.” Agatha says but you don’t react, and that scares your wife even more.
“Promise me something?” You try.
“I don’t like the sound of this.”
“You trust me don’t you?” You look at her now and Agatha looks raw in front of you.
“More than anything.”
“If when we get in there…if I ask you…. I need you to trust me.”
“No Bunny, we do this together.” Agatha slides across the bench seat to grab your thigh hard.
“Like we did with Rio?” You say and Agatha’s hurt is deafening in your ears.
“You know why we did that. This isn’t…”She hears the hypocrisy in her words. And you don’t shove it further down her throat.
“You have to trust me.”
“Baby, do not…this is not a solo mission. This isn’t a suicide mission either. You’ll listen to me and stay behind me, you won’t go off alone.” Agatha growled with new anger bubbling under her skin.
You shake your head. But as she tries to talk to you, you don’t say anything else. And you work hard to not think of what you are about to do, not to tell her.
It takes a long fucking time to get to the S.H.I.E.L.D facility, it’s got a lot of barbed wire and guards.
You park right at the front door. Alice open her doors first, the spotlight falls on her.
Alice puts her hands above her head, just like you’d spoken of.
As soon as the guns train on her she looks over at the car and you floor it. Going through the fence easily and Alice uses her orange magic and she shoots it across at the guards. Their eyes hemrage blood and they scream in agony.
You, Agatha, and Jen open the door and you keep your purple on the gas as you three jump out of the moving car. And the car goes through the front of the building.
S.W.A.T teams are called quickly and soldiers start to run out.
“You have five minutes before more come.” Agatha says to Jen who walks out with her pink magic flaring. She holds the front and Rio moves up to the guard tower so she can see oncoming air support. They’re being shot at and they keep their magic up like force fields. Keeping the attention on them.
You and Agatha follow where the car smashed through the front door.
You hear Lilia from before.
Hangman.
You turn to Agatha and you headbutt her so hard in the face she’s unconscious before she hits the ground.
Her face bleeds and so does yours.
“I’m so sorry.” You whisper knowing you are going to be in so much fucking trouble.
But you push her unconcious body into the closets room and you magically seal it. She’ll be able to break out of it. But she’ll be out for a little bit, long enough you hope.
You close your eyes.
“Ok..you want me mother fucker? Let’s play!” You think back to your dreams of the fox. Where she ran through the building. Where she guided you to where you’d need to go. It was a trap, but you were ready to play.
You run down hallways.
Your nose drips blood from the head butt and you look at room numbers.
Convinced that you know where you are going.
Until you come to the end of a hall and the door is open.
“I knew you’d come alone.” A male voice says.
You sigh but walk into the dark room.
He waits, and all you can see is his white teeth and then the lights come on.
It’s a large conference room, nothing special. But he sits criss cross in his blue jeans and white shirt. He’s got blood coming out of his nose and ears and you ralize, he’s dying. You aren’t a med witch, but you know from Rio what it looks like, what is smells like.
“You are quick. Now you know why I need you as a familiar.” His hair looks greasy and he reeks of impure intentions and a lack of self.
“You aren’t alone.” You say and look around. Wondering where she’s hiding. He seems uninterested in his mentor.
“My little spirit guide? Yeah she’ll come soon, first we have so much to discuss.”
“I hope you understand why I need to cut to the chase.”
You know this is a ticking time bomb. And you aren’t sure how long Jen and Alice can hold the soldiers off. And Agatha is sure to bring death every step she takes to find you.
“But of course, your wives will interrupt any minute. I suppose introductions are in order, my names Kent.” You snort like his name is fucking funny. Because it is, who’s villian of the story is named…Kent?
The fluorescent legal room lights flicker and his skin looks grey now. His eyes hallowed out. His cheeks sunken in like he’s on borrowed time. You wonder if he’s killed for more time.
“You were cursed, it’s not just sickness.” You tell him and he nods again seemily impressed with you.
“You are a talented little witch aren’t you? I am self taught…I tried Dr. Strange’s little compound, but they quickly figured out that I didn’t have……pure intentions. You don’t mind taking my last name do you? People need to know you got remarried after all.” He giggles and puts his elbow on his right knee and rests his chin on his hand like this is all so much fun.
“I’m going to ask you to skip this part. I don’t want the flirting or the villain origin story. I’m not super interested in why your Papa never played catch with you. Or why you only get an erection from choking women.” While the insluts may be taking up time, you find they are necessary and help you at least.
Kent makes a fake upset face at you but his smile is boyish.
“But I’ve waited so long to Woo you. And you’ve had the same lovers for centuries, don’t you want some meat inside you for once? ” His other hand grabs his crotch and you make a gagging noise. Kent doesn’t seem to mind.
“Yeah if you think for a second your sad excuse for a shriveled dick could compare to Death and my Powerful Witch Killer, you got another thing coming. And that slimy worm ain’t coming near me fella.” You say and you can hear Rio screaming in your mind now. She’s never been more mad.
You put your finger up to display his tiny dick and you inch it close like it’s unable to perform.
You have no fear for the fight to come, not with Kent, you are ready. You want blood.
You are ready for the pain, it’s only temporary, pain was in the mind.
The sound of gunfire outside echoes even in the deep halls of the governement facility. Kent looks up like it’s just above him. Before eyeing you with wonder. You silently hope Alice and Jen are doing ok.
“It’s only a matter of time before the rest of the soldiers come for your friends. If you open your pretty thighs to me, I’ll let Maximoffs kid live. But only if you moan really pretty for me. I will make Harkness watch though, I need you to know that. I want her to see it all.” His teeth don’t look of this world as he smiles manicly at you. You do wonder what made him this. Who wrecked his mind to become this. Murderous and deranged was usually made, not born.
What a sad excuse for a man.
You laugh a witchy laugh and his face twitches now and you know you’ve got him.
“She’s gonna love killing you. And after she’ll make love to me with your blood still on her face. You are really screwing this up..Kentie. I’m going to tell you one last time, you are running out of time.”
“Right, “ He says and jumps off the table. He doesn’t come closer though. You put yours hands in the air like, ‘this all you wanna do?’
“I’d give you about a minute and a half tops.” You tell him feeling Agatha start to wake, and Rio break back into the realm. This would end in blood shed for sure.
“Hangman, huh?” Kent puts his fingertips on the table, like he’s Mr. Seduction. But he puts his head to the side and looks around you towards the hall. And you feel it before you see it.
The fox walks behind you, slowly like it’s finally getting it’s meal. After waiting so long for a feast.
You turn to the side so you can watch them both. Careful to not create a blindspot.
“I’ll admit, I wasn’t one for divination like your Calderu. And of course Agatha hates it, so she didn’t get it. Smart of your coven really, old analog magic and divination.”
The lights turn off and the scuffle starts.
“But I like my tricks better.”
In the dark your eyes dont’ adjust in time to the first strike.
The fox bites at your ankle and you use your purple to go for it’s eyes.
And she shifts back into a human form but you manage to blind her. Her eyes pop like grapes and splatter and she screams and hisses like a demon. Like a vampire does the sunlight.
But as you fight her you feel him come behind you.
He has you in a headlock. His body is wet with satanic oils and he presses against you. He smells like formaldehyde and black mold. You can’t wait to shower, can’t wait to be held by Agatha and Rio again. To erase this.
He leans down and sniffs your bond scar like it’s delicious to him. Your body goes into fight or flight. No one had ever been this close to your scar outside of your family. And fear finds you again. Like a moth eating at the fabric of your mind.
“I’ve never seen one before you know, not many have.” He tells you and you struggle to free yourself, but don’t budge from his hold.
The last of the Salem Seven is screaming and hodling her empty eye sockets.
“How much did she teach you kid?”
“About making a familiar? She told me she wanted you to be hers. But that we could share.” He kisses your cheek and you flinch at the feeling. It’s all wrong.
“Yeah, Agatha doesn’t share.” You tell him and as if on cue. Always loving to make an entrance. The lights come back on.
But you feel her now.
Agatha.
Purple blasts like a giant wave into the room and the Salem Witch screams as her skin starts to melt.
“YOU SHOULD HAVE RUN FROM US HARKNESSES WHEN YOU HAD A CHANCE BITCH!” You scream over her pain.
But she struggles to make hand signs. Knowing that a blast will only be used to drain her against Agatha.
Agatha doesn’t allow it for long, as she moves her purple up to the ceiling and the roof starts to cave in.
The magic weilder must have learned something from Dr. Strange. Because he opens a hole and shoves you through it.
You are in a new place now and you look around.
“That’s right, the farther you are from her the weaker you get huh?” Kent smirks but you look around you.
It’s a grouping of cubicles, no, you felt Agatha still. You were still in the building, just further under ground.
“You aren’t that powerful huh buddy. You couldn’t take me too far?” You say and you see his smile drop. “Oh did you think I was submissive for you? That I’d roll over and take it? I’ll die first.” You tell him and his fingers spark with magic.
“You’ll wish you were dead.” He starts forward and your hands glow purple.
You raise the walls of the cubicles and build them into a box and trap him and squeeze. Keeping him in the magic box.
“BABY DON’T YOU WANNA PLAY?” He screams and shatters your box and you fall from the blast on your ass.
His eyes are bleeding now though. But he stalks forward and his magic tightens around your legs and you feeling the blood seeping into your jeans from the cuts. Plus the bite from the fox in your ankle.
“What’s the plan Kent? How you gonna lift the original spell?”
He laughs like he was waiting for you to ask.
“I’m going to cut it out of you, you silly little cunty witch.” He says and raches into his jeans. He’s got a large cermamonial knife and you recognize the engravings, it’s old salem. Seems the fox did give him a few ideas.
You laugh and put both hands on the floor and you use your green magic, like Daddy taught you.
You use the materials, the elements, to make the ground crumble and you both fall.
You land on your feet though and you look around trying to figure out where the fuck in the building you are.
The room is filled with dust from broken concrete and cement and rebar sticks out.
You look for an exit, anything.
But a hand comes out from the rubble and you curse under your breath.
Kent lifts himself up and coughs blood but spits it in your direction.
“I know what you are doing. But stalling isn’t gonna help.”
You point to his leg and he looks down. There’s a big piece of rebar in his thigh.
“That doesn’t seem like stalling, seems like I’m winning Kent. I don’t think you’ve ever been in a witch fight. Let me teach you honey.” You put your hands together and they glow purple and you channel the water in the building and burst the pipes. The water comes down crashing on him and you use your purple to make a ball, keeping him in there. Keeping him choking.
“LET ME TEACH YOU HISTORY! YOU THINK YOU WEILD MAGIC? I WAS THERE IN SALEM! YOU THINK YOU HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF WITCHES? I WAS THERE WHEN THEY DROWNED US! WHEN THEY BURNED US! You aren’t a witch Kent. You are just a stupid man with some parlor tricks.” You tell him and then you look into the sky.
Purple clouds start to form.
You know Rio will find you now.
You chant latin, just like Mommy taught you, and electricity comes down onto the ball of water. It shocks through his body and his skeleton can practically be seen. As you make volts travel through him.
You release it all and gasp and look down at your ankle. You are losing blood faster than you’d like.
He doesn’t move for a moment, but you know he isn’t dead.
You relax for a milisecond, big mistake.
He puts a hand down and draws something you can’t see.
And you fall through the earth again.
Only now you are in another room. Still in the building, it seems he can’t portal you outside of the grounds. But this time you are in a metal cage, a big one with bars. Your nightmares had these in them, perhaps they were preminitions.
You stand a grab the bars and try to remember the spell to melt metal, but it burns your hands and you back up.
Fuck.
Kent laughs as he walks around your cage. It’s about eight feet tall and ten feet wide. You feel like a tiger for a circus now.
“Good foreplay, but you should know. Your play didn’t work.” He says and you drop to the floor like magnets. You scream feeling your bones bend with the magic he’s wielding.
“You…should have studied the craft.” You gasp in pain but you still hang onto your consciousness.
“I’m afraid your ex wife and I agree on one thing. Divination is stupid.”
“So you don’t know what Hangman card even means?” You ask but you know your answer.
He drops the cage walls and you think how stupid he must be to do it. But he walks over to you and puts his boot against your back and presses down on your spine. You try to muffle your scream, but it fucking hurts.
He takes out the knife and you close your eyes.
You think of Agatha in the field in Salem, the field full of flowers, her book in hand. You imagine Rio laughing the first time she tried to teach you how to make pancakes. She kissed and licked the batter off your face. You kept your eyes closed. You try to stay with them.
But you couldn’t ignore the first slice of the blade across your bond scar.
You scream bloody murder now.
“Hurts doesn’t it?” He says and tears run as you can’t hear Agatha and Rio in your mind and you feel the pain. And it’s all over and your magic splinters in your body like it’s trying to get out.
He leans his knee against your spine but keeps the knife in your bound mark.
“Go ahead, call me Master? Or you can call me Daddy. Whatever you want really. But open that pretty mouth for me.” He giggles and leans in so his breath hits your cheek.
“Hangman mother fucker.” You shudder and he’s confused but he turns to the doorway.
Agatha is covered in blood and she’s walking towards him with purple glazed over her eyes and fingers.
Kent flies against the far end of the room. You see Agatha’s hand is bleeding, where the bond mark is.
You are shaking, you realize your body must be going into shock. You try to get onto your hands and knees and help her. Agatha’s concentration breaks from him to come over to you. Her eyes saying how scared she is of your pain.
You don’t have time to speak to one another. Your connection feeling so thin, so far now.
Kent shoots Agatha with a portal but she closes it fast and blasts his stomach and he doubles over in pain.
“You touched what doesn’t belong to you boy.” Agatha disappears and you know what she’s doing.
Kent falls to the ground on his hands and knees now. Agatha appears above him and her eyes are deep purple as she invades his mind.
You can feel the magic swell in the room.
She’s making him relive all his worst fears, she’s playing with her food.
You roll onto your back and move a hand to your bleeding neck, he cut deep, super deep. You blink and feel your magic struggling to surface. But you sit up when you feel it coming.
Stupid fucking Salem Seven bitch.
You push purple at her and her knee breaks to the side and she loses her footing. She hisses her head going to the side like a feral being.
Agatha is doing wonders it seems on Kent. Who starts to scream ‘make it stop, make it stop.’ Unable to end the mind games she’s so good at.
You speak to the woman who you learned magic with.
“You fucking bitter bitch. Your revenge mission made you partner with the very people who hunt your sisters in the craft. So how much better are you than two witch killers now?” You gasp in pain, and she mends her knee and you aren’t fast enough.
She uses old magic, and lifts the illusion from Kent. Who reaches out quick with his magic to break Agatha’s collarbone and she staggers back once before purple rope wraps around his throat and she squeezes. He uses portal magic to try and drop her into another room.
You reach out and slice his neck, but you don’t get deep enough. He loses concentration to reach for his bleeding neck and Agatha uses that to close the portal.
The stupid fox pushes the bars back up and you are trapped, unable to use magic, unable to fight.
You scream in pain as the bars glow and you feel pain splitting through your body.
“STOP! STOP!” Agatha screams at Kent feeling your pain feeling your agony.
“Give in. Let go.” He instructs and she drops her magic.
Agatha puts both hands up and you can’t see her as your eyes start to only have colors, unable to see now.
“TAKE ME! TAKE ME!” Agatha shouts but you can’t tell what’s happening.
But you hear a scuffle and the bars fall again.
You are trying to breathe and you look up and Agatha is standing above the last of the Salem Seven. She’s dead, blood running out of her corpse.
Agatha arms are covered and she looks positively murderous as she turns to Kent.
“You have no idea what you started. You fucked with my wife, with my baby. You don’t know pain, you don’t know suffering. But I swear on the Devine Mother, you fucking are about to.” Agatha stalked towards him and he blasted her.
Beginners mistake.
She started to drain his powers and laugh.
“Oh honey! Didn’t your stupid mentor teach you better than to do this to me? How do you think I killed her Mommy?” Agatha cackled and you smirked even in your pain state.
Kent tried to break the stream but found he couldn’t.
“Stop. Stop it!”
“Did you stop when you touched my wife? Did you stop then? What does consent mean to you now. I want this to be slow.” Agatha slowed her syphoning and her magic invaded his mind again and he screamed in terror.
You blinked and tried to stay awake. So much blood loss and you knew Agatha felt it as well, because her knees shook.
You see her magic break just enough for him to come to again. Agatha tries to bring her purple back into his mind but everyone is gasping for air.
You turn to him, keeping the pressure on your neck and shoulder. Where you hope the bond isn’t broken.
“Hangman means ultimate surrender, a sacrifice.” You tell him and you wince as soldiers break through the door.
Their guns trained on you. Agatha is quick to reach out and set Kent on fire. He screams as he burns.
“What did you say to my girl? Oh right, beg pretty for me.” She tells him as he burns alive.
Agatha switches her stance to the room of soldiers and reaches her purple out but you are so weak and she turns to you. Fear so clear on her face.
You didn’t want this to be it. To be your last fight.
You close your eyes and ask for Rio to forgive you. Agatha pushes her purple as a forcefield for you and then starts to kill S.H.I.E.LD agents left and right.
She’s decimated about fifty soldiers….then it’s quiet and you feel Agatha drop to you.
Her hand goes over your neck. Cradling your body against hers now, and you are limp.
“Baby, my Bunny, hey look at me!” Agatha cries and you cough and look into her eyes. “Stay awake my love.”
You think of when she kidnapped you from the library now. Where she asked you that day to stay awake, begged you to stay awake. You think of her waking you up on your wedding night to stargaze, telling you ‘stay awake my love.’
“Tell Rio-”
“Stop it, tell Dadd yourself!”
“I love you.” You whisper and you can’t hear her in your mind.
“Then stay with me, don’t leave Mommy.” Agatha sobs as she begs and you feel her tears falling onto your face. “You broke the rules! You stay awake for Mommy, okay? Bunny please!” She says and you shiver as her hand holds your bloody bond mark.
“That day…In the field…I was just so happy you saw me, I..I had no idea what an adventure our lives would be. You Agatha, you were my favorite adventure.” You cry and Agatha’s sobbing openly in a room full of corpses. She’s holding you and horrified. And you can’t make yourself say awake.
“I’ll see you again, in a field…with wildflowers.” You say and you feel yourself slipping.
But there’s a really loud sound. And then your eyes close and you wait for Death to kiss you once more.
You ok?
