I just finished rewatching the show and got the most insane, fucked-up idea

So, you know how Lottie’s dad is acknowledged to be super rich, right? In the first episode, it’s said that he actually PAID FOR THE PRIVATE PLANE that the crash happened in. What if everything that happened is all somehow his design, and Lottie is just a part of it?

Components of this theory (I don’t have the software that lets you screenshot Netflix, so I’ll try to be as descriptive as possible):

There are a couple ways this could go down, but the theory that’s hitting me the hardest is that this is all some kind of experiment to see how teenage girls act in extreme survival scenarios. Lottie’s dad(s company/partners) orchestrated the crash and kept the girls confined to a specific area in order to observe their behavior.

The symbol is the logo for the company or the project. They carved it into trees in the wilderness to mark off the boundaries of the testing site. This would also explain why the people who carried off Natalie at the end of Episode 10 had the symbol on their necklaces— they could be working for Mr. Matthews or the company.

Lottie is involved in the design of the project, either because she’s in on it or because she’s being manipulated by her father without her knowledge. Suzie’s call asking Natalie “who the fuck is Lottie Matthews?” would suggest the latter— that she’s willingly part of the orchestration. However, she could also be being drugged or controlled by her dad— in the episode where young Lottie predicts the car crash, her dad is heard telling her mom that he’s taking Lottie to a psychiatrist. Maybe she’s been hypnotized or manipulated into the things she does in the woods. It would make sense that she would be some sort of plant used as an inside eye and/or to egg on everyone else.

Going deeper into that last point: Lottie’s belief in the spirits of the woods is a huge divider and motivator for the group as a whole. Maybe the point of the experiment is something to do with cults/spirituality/religion, and the effect they have on group mentality. Lottie is there to see if the others can be persuaded into certain beliefs when in a suggestible state.

Adam was somehow involved with the company, and was trying to get information out of Shauna before she killed him (because even though he wasn’t the blackmailer, I have a hard time believing he was totally innocent)

If this is all true, my subtext prediction would be that the company has realized that the experiment was fucked up as hell and are now trying to cover their tracks. They’re using “mutually assured destruction” (a theme in that one episode when Shauna is talking to Callie) to make sure that no one talks— which is why it keeps coming up that if anyone knew what had really happened in the woods, the Yellowjackets’ lives would be ruined.

It’s out-there, but damn. That would be such a sick twist. Fairly, this may already be a common theory that’s been shared and that I just haven’t heard of yet. I’m also pretty sure that this is kind of the plot of Lost (from what I remember of Lost, which is almost nothing). Still, I really like the idea.

With all this "getting along with now-former enemies" thing going on in the plot lately, should it continue yes that means the Hive as people have said, but it also means Mara.

As ive briefly said before, Mara is not compassionate. But she HAS compassion. She simply chooses to not use it. Which, in a way, makes her worse than some crazy enemy who cant help what they do. Mara is someone without a sense of hope (which the Guardians are driven by <w< dont think ive never connected this before-) so she's taking the worse way possible towards attacking the universal enemy. She doesnt believe in herself enough to take a higher road than that. This woman literally needs to be saved from herself. She is not a bad person. But she does bad things.

By this, she is a villain. "But its for the good of the universe!" ... said Ra's Al Ghul. And all the other crazy villains pulling the same "you just dont understand my vision-" crap. Mara however is not crazy, she just doesn't believe in herself. It simply comes down to: if you have 10 villains who are crazy and act horrible in a room, plus one person who isn't crazy but acts horrible just like the rest, then you have 11 villains in that room.

All it takes is for SOMEONE to finally convince Mara to work WITH the Guardians completely instead of AGAINST/without them - and that someone might be Crow <w< (I have some canon-supported theories which work against this notion, BUT... still)

TAZ Amnesty theory

So I’ve been catching up on The Adventure Zone: Amnesty, and I’ve got a theory. This happens occasionally when I’m in the middle of a new story, and it’s always really fun to be able to say I saw it coming. Sometimes I’m right on the money, sometimes I’m way out in left field.

I could be entirely off. Eh, we’ll see.   Point being, slight spoilers for TAZ Amnesty if you haven’t seen episodes 6-10. But I do want to put this theory down somewhere.

Theory below the break:

I think Barclay might end up being a bad guy. I like the character, but we’ve had a couple of subtle mentions thus far that people go missing around Barclay. 

The FBI agent is looking into disappearances attributed to Bigfoot, and Barclay himself said that the agent has obviously looked into places Barclay has actually been. SO people have gone missing where Barclay has actually been.

 And previous members of the Pine Guard have left without warning. Just up and vanished. Barclay mentions that this has happened with more than one previous member of the Pine Guard. And now Mama is no where to be found and Barclay hasn’t gone looking for her.

Either this is all one big red herring, or Barclay is up to something.  

Edit: Well, just finished episode 11. Mama's back, so there's one bit of my theory wrong. But Griffin's also made the disappearances a bit more obvious with Stern's discussion with Ned. So, eh? Can't wait to see where this story goes.

would this be a good time to ask where the idea that vermouth hates miyano elena and in turn also hates haibara come from? i had always thought that she is dead set on killing haibara not because of personal hatred but to ensure that haibara cannot continue the aptx/silver bullet research, so i interpreted her antagonism as being towards the development of the drug and not towards the miyanos. but i see that it’s mostly taken as fact that vermouth harbors a personal grievance against miyano elena, with many theorizing that it stems from the miyano version of the aptx/silver bullet prototype. is it simply from the “an angel has never smiled upon me, not once” line that sharon said in new york, or is there something else i’m missing?

me: so kid obviously recognized amuro as the dangerous man with the gun and explosives from the train, and that’s why he approaches conan’s group to challenge amuro’s card trick. and amuro, knowing now that kid can perfectly disguise himself as anyone, is suspecting that the sherry from the train had been kid all along (“hello sherry” shirt easter egg), and is therefore this uncharacteristically pressed about an unrelated thief like kid and even calling in his psb officers to deal with him and

the only way i can conceivably imagine kuroda = tsutomu under gosho’s pen is a double agent type of story (a la atomic blonde), where tsutomu was originally a japanese secret agent who was sent undercover to infiltrate the mi6.

if tsutomu was in fact a kouan agent all along, it would explain why, when (allegedly) he was investigating the haneda case and realized he had come upon a dangerous organization, he told mary and his family to flee to japan instead of, idk, going to their own mi6 for help. perhaps being actually a kouan agent, he felt he had a stronger sphere of influence in japan. perhaps he found the mi6 less trustworthy, perhaps there were moles in the mi6 (perhaps rum is mi6? many thoughts)

and it’s all-but-confirmed at this point that kuroda is the commander of zero (the organization), right? so if kuroda turns out to be tsutomu, it’s far more likely that tsutomu was originally kouan, went undercover into mi6 when he was a young man, then came back to kouan after the whole haneda thing, and on the merit of all that experience and history, he got to his current position as essentially the most powerful man in the japanese secret police system.

if this theory is true (and that’s a big IF), i do wonder how mary would react to the news that her fellow mi6 husband was actually a foreign operative all along. though no one in the akai family seem to care all that much for patriotism to any particular country; shuuichi literally went and got american citizenship just so he can join the fbi and investigate the case that caused his father to disappear. their loyalty has always been to their own family first and foremost

ok so leaked spoilers say the murderer of this case is the kleptomaniac woman

I thought as much, as the angle of the injury on the victim’s head makes it clear that it was dealt by a person whose dominant hand is their right, and she is the only right-handed one of the three suspects. (she fixes her glasses with her right hand, while marriage scammer touched his face reflexively with his left hand, and other guy put up his left fist first in a fight pose)

I was hoping though, that maybe there’d be another twist, such as, she was the one who hit the dead guy over the head but someone else threw him off the stairs lol (ok tbh still holding some hope for this)

am also wondering what this might imply for the truth of the Haneda Kouji case, as I’ve seen many people theorizing that this case’s suspects have many similarities with the Haneda case. might the relationships of the three suspects and victim in this case map onto the players involved in the Haneda case as well?

might Wakasa be the one who killed Haneda after all? if she is, then I feel like there’s got to be some other twist here, otherwise it’d feel quite unlike the usual Gosho layered main arcs.

I still think (hope) Wakasa might not be that bodyguard Asaka, despite how much the plot is seemingly hinting at it. And what exactly was Amanda Hughes’ role in the entire thing? And what was Haneda’s? he went conveniently to america to attend a chess tournament (of all things), and conveniently the american Amanda and him scheduled a meeting the day before the tournament? there’s too many separate lines converging to make it all happen here that I’m not sure there aren’t hands behind it pushing things together.
