Her eyes eventually pulled themselves open, her body still snuggled against something warm that held her close, keeping trapped against them. Crowley’s smell invaded her nose, fear immediately causing her to tense up before hearing his own soft breathing signaling that he was asleep. The demon shifted and pulled her closer, putting too much pressure on the new burns and drawing a short whimper out of her.
The demon had clearly not been far into sleep, the whimper calling him immediately into consciousness and into movement. His hand wandered over her back, pressing his fingers hard into one of the burns and whispering something almost inaudible into her ear before biting harshly into it.
Something started happening, heat spreading over her body even before he finished speaking to her. A want… no a need consumed her and she immediately turned to him to fulfill it. A small chuckle escaped him, immediately assisting to her needs and only replying with twisted laughter as she begged him for more. Gemma could hear herself begging, moaning, pleading to him, but at the same time she didn’t want to be saying any of it, she wanted to sob, to scream and hit her fists against his smug face for doing this to her… but she couldn’t, nothing was listening, the pleasure and lust consuming everything until there was nothing left anymore.
She couldn’t remember falling asleep, or passing out at all. Apparently she had though, waking up alone and in the darkness again. She was left to simply pull the blankets closer, to try and pray that this was all just a horrible dream that she had yet to wake up to. Gemma prayed eventually to her brother, hoping that sometime he would hear her, and maybe eventually she would receive a reply at the very least. The muffled prayers faded into silent sobs as her chest heaved to try and get a breath in again, only seeming to upset the eventually gnawing pain in her abdomen.
The angel froze, trying to simply stop breathing like she knew was possible, seeing as she had no need for air because she was both and angel and a personification. She managed for a few meager seconds before sucking in a painful breath, unable to not breathe like usual, her lungs constantly demanding air. Her stomach growled, dragging only a short groan out as she realized what this meant. How horridly pitiful, weak and utterly human she was at this point. An attempt was made to push herself back sitting, surrendering that idea as the pain laced up her arms and legs at the slightest movement, everything else remaining virtually non-reactive.
Eventually she abandoned any idea of moving more than a few inches to either side, trailing her fingers over the symbols he had burned over her stomach. She paused over the only familiar one, circling her finger slowly around the sign, “Infinity…” was the only thing she could think and it was easy enough to guess what several of the others were, ranging from simple pentagrams to ridiculously complicated lines tracing into others.
She couldn’t fall asleep, everything felt so cold and empty, even though she knew nothing could be missing that would cause this kind of reaction in her entire bodily make up. Feeling dirty in her own skin was one thing, knowing that she would never get the memory of what happened out of her head, and even more that it was going to happen again… surely with other things like that as well.
Wanting out, to be anywhere but where she was trapped, the need was almost unbearable. The only thing that still stood to hold her back was the pain, it was her utter uselessness and inability to power through it any longer, to simply push herself up and walk out regardless of how many times they stabbed her through. By now she just felt inadequate as a whole, only managing to pull herself to the side of the bed before her body refused to move any longer, muffled sobs escaping her as she felt helplessness take her over.
An almost blankness took over her mind for what felt like minutes, but must have been hours, only being shaken out of it when a demon quietly pressed something into her hand before running out of the room again. Sobs echoed out of it, someone crying her name and apologizing profusely was all that she could hear, the occasional snippet of someone talking about whoever it was hearing that she was all right… that maybe it would help him.
Tears laced their way down her cheeks when she finally recognized her brother’s sobbing voice, trying to get the words he needed to hear. A choked breath was all that made its way out of her mouth, only managing to send pain shattering through her chest. Sobs wracked her body, making it almost impossible to hear anything else that was being said, only after a heavy thud of a door closing managing to make her strain her ears to hear what was going on. A man was just talking to himself, muttering under his breath in an attempt to make sense of something; eventually her mind sorted it out as Dean’s.
She managed to force out a single word, growling under her breath to try and muffle the pain, “Dean….” The talking immediately froze, things shifting around until something grabbed onto the phone, scratching over the speakers, “Is this actually you… you mean they actually gave it to you?” He sounded both relieved and horrified at the same time “That means you heard… all of that…then”
Gemma tried to answer, choking on the short word she wanted to say, pain making it impossible to even want to attempt it again. “Gemma… um… here, Death said you probably couldn’t talk… tap the phone if it’s a yes maybe?” Rapping a broken nail against the screen was hard enough; waiting for a reply was harder still.
“Your brother is… he’s going to be okay, we’ll make sure of it… don’t worry.” She tapped the screen again; worry consuming her thoughts as the door started to inch its way open. “You’re okay right, can you hold on for just a little longer maybe?” Tears continued to roll down her cheeks, burning as they crossed over cuts and burns on their way to the sheets. She tapped the screen again once, about to hit it a second time before it was ripped out of her hand, “You idiot, thinking that by now a few words would make any difference, and this time, she’s not going to be all right now.” The phone shattered against the wall, splintering into a hundred pieces of plastic and metal. “Not anymore.”

She was left alone again, shuddering underneath the thin blankets and wishing that there was a way to keep the blood from soaking into them, leaving an uncomfortable chill along her entire back. It felt like blood coated her tongue, the taste making it impossible to relax in the least. A choked breath was all she could manage, curling onto her side to keep from having to taste the blood that she started coughing up with every few breaths she tried to suck in.
They had left her curled back up in the room she had originally occupied, not even trying to replace any of the clothes they had ripped away. She could still feel their hands everywhere, like they were trying to drive her insane, like they were trying to rip her into even smaller pieces. Laevis had come in several times afterward he had finished as well, starting to bind up the worst of her wounds and happily taking care of the blood that wouldn’t seem to stop flowing.
The angel eater eventually moved toward her wings, pruning away the blood soaked feathers and tossing them into a pile in the corner. “Almost... laughable how far an angel has been drawn into hell itself.” He couldn’t help himself from starting to move closer to her neck, “But then, you’re ours now, and you’re never getting away.” before licking the dried blood away before sinking his teeth into it.
She let out a short cry, trying to reach her hands over her head to try and grab onto his hair. Her hands hooked lightly into his locks, trying to pull his head away from her neck with muffled whimpers as it only served to make Laevis sink his teeth deeper into her skin. The demon easily pulled her hands away, letting out a contented sigh as he continued to suck at her blood. Finally pulling away with a wet smack he let out a low groan as he licked his lips. “Delicious, as can be expected.” He grabbed a couple of feathers from the pile before rushing out of the door.
Gemma could practically feel the pulsing beat of her heart slow down to a crawl, her eyes trying frantically to stay open even as they drifted closed. Someone brushed their hand over her forehead, causing her eyes to barely flutter open and croak out his name, “Death...”
“I was sent to check on you... and considering everything, I’m quite amazed that I haven’t been drawn here earlier, much less how easily I’m being pushed away.” He straightened his suit, clearly uncomfortable with this feeling. “It’s almost cruel to keep you here... but I can’t necessarily take you out... not even if you wanted to go.”
She looked up toward him, trying to raise a hand to grab onto his suit; she couldn’t do this anymore... Death had to have some way out of here, that just maybe she could stop suffering this pain. Even as she dragged her arm off of the soiled sheets he was pushed further away, struggling against an invisible wall. “I’m afraid... that I cannot do that Gemma... I am physically unable to even touch you any longer... they will hear about this, don’t you worry.” With those last words, Death dissipated, leaving her alone and sinking into the darkness.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She could feel someone shoving a needle into her arm, not even letting out a whine after they forced something foul down her throat. “You’ve just given up on everything... quite a good bargaining chip for us, and it makes you so much easier to manipulate.” It wasn’t even worth opening her eyes, she just knew that there would be nothing to see, that it would all be darkness again now that they were working again.
Even now she couldn’t take more than a few breaths before coughing up what had to be blood but tasted more like rotten sludge to her than being even close its usual metallic. She was too tired to even cry, letting her head loll back against whatever they had tucked underneath it. Something was scrawled around the needle in her arm before it was tugged at painfully, assuring her that it was an IV and they were putting something into her bloodstream. “This is going to take quite a while... and your entire body is probably going to revolt on itself, and as long as Death stays away you’ll just have to suffer through that, no worries though.” Crowley’s hand patted her head before adding. “And your brother apologized quite profusely for keeping you here... not like he had a choice.”
Before there was ever a chance to react, the door shut behind him and time started its all too quick to pass her by.
The first day was gone with aches and pains, like someone had gone over all of her old injuries with a sharpened razor blade. Crowley had apparently come in to simply talk for a few minutes... but it could have been hours for all she knew.
The second came with moans and groans, like someone was standing on her chest, like she was drowning under an ocean that wasn’t there. Laevis came this time, smoothing down her ripped up feathers and cooing over her for what felt like minutes again, but had to have been hours again.
The third and final day lasted with screams and begs for it to just end, as if someone had lit everything on fire, like someone had decided it was a swell idea to slowly rip her to pieces. Hands pinned her down to the bed, people shouting over each other in an attempt to figure something out that she couldn’t make out anymore, nor could she bring herself to wanting to know.
The fourth day dawned with pain, but it was nothing new, it had been everything that was there the last three days. The first thing that she noticed after all this time was that she could see everything clearly, her vision was clear and actually... there this time. Crowley was sitting next to the bed, paying close attention to her as she started to try and move around, smirking when she turned her eyes to focus on him. “Welcome back to the world darling.” Now that she looked, he was rather disheveled, his shirt ripped down the side with a light cut across his cheek. “You gave us all quite the fight, not that you can be expected to remember much of it due to the combination that had to have been taking place then.”
He ruffled up her hair, a small amount of laughter escaping him as he glanced around the room. Cracks and blackened stains that must have been blood lacing around the room. “It’s amazing what you did just in the presence of pain, with no real threat toward you in the least.” He paused, glancing her over, “I can only suggest that you don’t move in the least, lest you have a reaction like that again, or even just have to suffer the pain.” A smile lit up his face, before cringing at something. “Pity, it’s time for you to leave us.”
