Derby Diary
Had such a fun session last night! We worked on some more blocking techniques partcularly ones that required plow stops. Which for me was perfect as it meant i could work on my plow stops more, as well as single foot plows!
I enjoyed doing this as i manged to block well will holding a plow, which i wasn;t sure i'd be able to do! I also enjoyed practising as a jammer to get past blocks like this. We also practised moving across the jam line, and being able to communicate to the rest of the team as to where the jammer is. This was fun, and meant we could work on our stepping techniques.
We also did a really fun drill where we had to pair up and make a block, and then move apart again. When we were apart someone would have to get through and then stop without crashing into anyone when the doors closed! This was fun, i really enjoyed this exercise.
We also did pack laps in the session, which is the first time ive done that! I really enjoyed this, though i found it a little hard to keep up at times. Need to work on my speed and stamina i think!
I really enjoyed last nights session, and found it helpful to try doing the skills as i found the plows easier to do once i stopped thinking about how to do them. Im hopefully going to the scrim on friday as well and im going to hopefully have my first attempt at NSO-ing!
