Step 13 - Configuring WPSpam Shield Plugin
In one of our previous posts, we configured Jetpack and Social Media Widget. The WPSpam Shield Plugin we installed on our website also requires some configuration so we are going to learn how to edit the settings now. Let's go to Plugins -> Installed Plugins and search for the WPSpam Shield Plugin. Click on Settings and take a look at some of the things that we can configure.
First, we have General Settings where you can check the fields you want to apply to your website. Each field gives you a short description of what the result will be once you check the box. The one field that is checked for you is the : Allow users behind proxy servers to comment? One of the nice things about Plugins is that most of them are already configured for you, and that most of the necessary/important changes are already done at the start. The same thing applies here in the General Settings option as everything is already configured for you unless you want to add something more advanced to your website. Personally, I believe you do not need to change anything under the General Settings section, but please read all of the descriptions so you know what your options are.
Next, under Contact Form Settings, you will see that the most important fields are already checked for you. But, if you want to add some more specific information, by all means put a check wherever you want. From here, you can also edit items such as the length of the message and your personalized message that readers are going to receive after they submit their message through the Contact form. That's not much to configure, right? It's good to know where to go in case you want to make changes, so hopefully this post will help you out if you do have any questions.
