Here we have the 1974 aesthetic in its final form: where "home repair" meets "experimental theater set." I’m not sure what kind of plumbing emergency requires an artistic geometric grid of pipes that lead absolutely nowhere, but she looks ready to handle it with a level of confidence usually reserved for people who actually know where the main water shut-off valve is. The patchwork shirt under the overalls is a bold choice, it screams, "I have to fix the sink at 5:00, but I’m due at a folk festival by 6:30." This is peak DIY chic before DIY was even a marketing buzzword.
