I love layering for fall, especially collared shirts under sweaters. But I hate when the collared shirt is bulky and makes the sweater look super lumpy!
One thing I do to prevent this is use a lot of SHEER shirts. The material is often thin enough that it doesn't bunch up under the sweater, but the collars are solid enough to look good. Blousey shirts are also good for this.
I also layer sleeveless collared shirts, especially when it's early autumn like this, when it's not always cool enough to want to wear two long sleeve shirts.
I rarely wear collared shirts without layering so when I am looking at one to buy I really pay attention to the collar detail - do I already have something in that shape/color? If it's long sleeve, also note the cuff detail.
Sweater layering ideas - collars look great with v-neck or crew necks, also think about sweater vests (or sweater shells) and button up cardigans. As we get deeper into autumn/winter I will be layering blouses with sweaters or sweater vest and a blazer on top.
Autumn is clearly my favorite time of year! I am the worst at summer and spring.
