If he was still a captain, he would start writing up reports and log daily activities or suspicions - responsibilities of a Soul Reaper captain. As a Visored, he may write down current events - almost like a diary. It gives him a sense of something to do since he lost his position as captain. As long as he doesn’t have any noise or distractions, he’ll be just fine. Don’t make him angry.
36: What makes them feel guilty?
He believes that he was partially responsible for the Hollowfication of the other Visoreds. If he had stopped Tosen, Aizen and Gin in time, their lives wouldn’t have been jeopardized. He may feel extremely angry towards himself for not realising that Tosen - his then trusting fifth seat - was part of Aizen’s schemes and that if he could have gone back in time, he would have gotten rid of Tosen first. He felt that he didn’t do his job properly to protect those affected, ultimately paying the price for his ‘crimes’ and the guilt of dragging his comrades down with him in this predicament. He tries not to re-live this guilt, but by building resentment towards those who put them (the individuals he cared about) in the hollow circumstances haha my puns are great, Kensei will make sure that they will pay for what they have done.
